In it Montagnier (Co discoverer of HIV) states that someone with a healthy immune system could be exposed to HIV many times without being chronically infected and that it is malnutrition that makes the immune systems of Africans weak and the diseases of TB, malaria and parasitic infections. That is no reason not to legalize and regulate these things though. Before Viral load and antibody DNA tests were invented CD4 was the only thing to go by. ELIZA and WESTERN BLOT antibody tests are now the standard, instant prick tests are inaccurate because antibodies aren't created by the body until the infection is recognised.

I wonder where the slide was that showed the number of people in first-world countries (such as the USA) who have HIV when they don't do drugs or have random sex with strangers? Oh yeah, that slide would be at least mostly blank. Politicians are making "dumb" decisions because they don't want to appear to promote drug use or dangerous sexual liaisons. I understand her point at the end that it is a "rational" choice for a person to be a sex-worker in Indonesia.

The test popularly referred to as the AIDS test does not identify or diagnose AIDS and cannot detect HIV, the virus claimed to cause AIDS. The two most widely used tests, the ELISA and Western Blot tests, only detect interaction between proteins and antibodies thought to be specific to HIV. Up to now, HIV has never been isolated in its pure form from any patient who has tested HIV antibody positive. Without the isolation and purification of HIV, there can be no gold standard for HIV tests.

Or are we just on a witch hunt for something that may turn out to be a genetic problem? If other viruses can be isolated, why not this one? Either no other viruses have been isolated or this one mutates quickly, making it tough to find. Some of my questions are genuine, due to my ignorance, and others are a matter of logic.

Also, if AIDS/HIV is not a real virus, does this imply that the problems could be coming from a genetic defect or environmental issues that change the body chemistry? I suppose it could also implicate a lot of fraudulent research claims and health coverage claims. But I do have to wonder about the demographics of who is primarily affected.

So, why ask us to do the research for you? You could just go to the library. Or the NIH's website. Or Avert's clear article on the issue.

Yes it does actually, and does much to discredit the test. You haven't seen any of the clips have you. In it Montagnier (Co discoverer of HIV) states that someone with a healthy immune system could be exposed to HIV many times without being chronically infected and that it is malnutrition that makes the immune systems of Africans weak and the diseases of TB, malaria and parasitic infections. Water is key, clearly meaning clean water, without parasites and pollutants.

HIV tests are poly-reactive and non-standardized; they give no single reaction, and react with no single disease. The list below, from the National Institutes of Health Reference and Reagent Program, is The Source of Critical HIV Research Materials. These are what scientists and researchers refer to when they refer to HIV. There is no single particle, no reference particle for HIV tests, and no complete particle.

My favorite part was the commercial about energy.
Her conversation seemed erratic... and without point. I liked the bit of humor she had in there. But...didn't like how she made a joke of herself, literally at one point.
At the very end... she did bring up a good point about how politics screws the issues up. And if that is the case, rather than vote.. I think she she should move toward a solution that doesn't involve politics in any shape form or manner. That'd help more than voting.

@Cradle2Venus Recognizing civil liberties would definitely be a blow to the current economic systems, so those things can be considered "rational" within the short term context. That is no reason not to legalize and regulate these things though. Humans are innovative, we would figure out new systems that don't rely on keeping people sick, incarcerated, etc. Either way, this system is unsustainable and the longer we perpetuate it, the harder its going to be for civilization to bounce back.

Alternatives to oil need to be found and utilized - the sooner the better - but right now we need to find and drill oil until the theoretical alternatives become practical realities. If out of some warped morality we stopped hunting and drilling for oil, the cost to the world in human suffering would be staggering.

A patient can be HIV positive and negative from the same blood draw, depending on what lab is used. There is absolutely no standardization. A review of the scientific literature shows that there are over 70 diseases or biological conditions that may give false-positive HIV antibody test results. A few examples are the flu, hepatitis, blood transfusions, Herpes Simplex I and II, tuberculosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and a large list of others.
