the only dispute with hybrid tuning to me is that it will eliminate the grassroots level of racing. in order to be able bto work on your own hybrid, your going to have toa bunch of specialty tools and equipment, which will definetly cost alot of money, eliminating the masses from tuning. I hope they can make all this stuff more affordable

Not bad though, seeing a CR-Z in person is better than pics IMO. I'm no engine expert, but would it be efficient add a electric engine to a K20 and call it a hybrid? Imagine a 9K revving hybrid :D and to let everyone know I'm no tree hugger, but the idea of having a fuel efficient sports cars is nice. I kinda wish they left to two seats in the back for USA though.

I feel like they should have a Hyrbrid version for eco-drivers, and then a performance version for hardcore honda fanatics. Keep the hybrid motor in for the hybrid, and then for the performance versions, have a k20 just hooked the hell up, with ARP rod bolts, and a performance tune! Did that thought ever cross their minds?, or no?

I think moding this car is creating bases for the future of tuning engines, since hybrid cars might very well be that future.

@rmcld You are absolutely right. I can't stand when people say "what's wrong with Honda?" because Honda never said this is a TypeR. The way Spoon is modding this car clearly reminds me of one thing. It took 1.5year for Honda to make TypeR version of the last JDM Civic (all new Civic came out on 2005, and TypeR on 2007). And in the meanwhile what Spoon did was mod the base Civic to what they think TypeR should be. So that's what makes Spoon stand out in the crowd, and so will in the hybrid era.

@chitaka2000 to me, hybrid is stupid, if were going electric, go all out, if you can't, oh well, stick with gas. there is nothing wrong with a gas engine imo, and all this "eco" crap isn't doing any good considering the "eco" was isn't up to par with normal engines. if they can make an electric car as fast as their normal cars, then sure, id get one, but in a way, when the world goes complete electric, ill surely miss gas engines...........

@chitaka2000 They also don't understand why Honda pulled the plug on the 2010 NSX and pulled out of F1. They had foresight to the changes in the future of automobiles and racing. In this now shaky economy that even the racing industry feels I believe Honda is playing it safe and putting it's cards into pioneering the future. The reason why I love Honda is because they're constantly thinking outside the box.

It's kinda funny that Spoon has already developed a big brake kit for the new CR-Z. However, not too sure if it needs it since it's quite weak in the power department not sure if it needs all that extra braking power. Perhaps a K20Z3 swap would be a better fit..... no pun intended.... LOL

Yesterday I drove the stock version. Not bad at all, very nice handling

and the power seems good enough to have fun. In the the looks of power of course not comparable with my FN2 Civic! Fuel consumption was 6.0L per 100km in average.
