i'm off to the concert in Bangalore..my deepest condolences to the Delhi guys..i'm really sorry it didnt happen. But we Bangaloreans really need to thank you for making this one happen as the organizers have taken much more precaution. We were just lucky that Bangalore was the second venue. Had it been the first, i'm sure the same thing would have happened as in Gurgaon.

So when that stupid Metallica spokesperson told everyone that the gig wasn't happening, it enraged everyone and a part of the crowd retaliated.

Deep purple, Scorpions ( twice ) , Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Dire straits, Bryan Adams ( 3-4 times) , Pink Floyd ... to name few.... Very upset seeing all the madness from the cancelled Metallica concert in Gur'gaon'. It was surely not because of "technical reasons". Yes, DNA screwed up from their side, but the assholes among the crowds made it even worse! Crowd madness at a Metallica gig is nothing new, they have a history. But it doesn't make it acceptable anytime it happens.
Such an embarrassment to have Metallica in the country, but not play! Fans have waited for more nearly 25 years! Hope Bangalore will be better.

It happens the world over. I was in Philadeplhia in 2004 when GnR cancelled their show after the opening act had performed. Surprise surprise, there were FULL scale riots. The organizers were smart enough to pack the music equipment before the fans realized it but the fans took out the revenge on the venue.

But we Bangaloreans really need to thank you for making this one happen as the organizers have taken much more precaution. We were just lucky that Bangalore was the second venue. Had it been the first, i'm sure the same thing would have happened as in Gurgaon.

OKAY. So listen you stupid fucks. I was there. Metallica had a press conference at the same time as the gig. They did NOT EVEN FUCKING TURN UP FOR THE GIG. Metallica WASN'T EVEN THERE. They were doing a press conference elsewhere at the TIME of the gig. And like in all rock concerts, a part of the crowd was HEAVILY intoxicated. So when that stupid Metallica spokesperson told everyone that the gig wasn't happening, it enraged everyone and a part of the crowd retaliated.

Very upset seeing all the madness from the cancelled Metallica concert in Gur'gaon'. It was surely not because of "technical reasons". Yes, DNA screwed up from their side, but the assholes among the crowds made it even worse! Crowd madness at a Metallica gig is nothing new, they have a history. But it doesn't make it acceptable anytime it happens.
Such an embarrassment to have Metallica in the country, but not play! Fans have waited for more nearly 25 years! Hope Bangalore will be better.

@1255r3 Exactly!! I don't know why people (most of them Indians) are trying to make it sound as if cancelling a rock/metal concert at the last moment somehow shouldn't lead to a riot. It happens the world over. I was in Philadeplhia in 2004 when GnR cancelled their show after the opening act had performed. Surprise surprise, there were FULL scale riots. The organizers were smart enough to pack the music equipment before the fans realized it but the fans took out the revenge on the venue.
