All 12,000 Ameriprise advisers are horrible people. Every single one of them is scamming Ameriprise's 2 million clients. Also, all racial minoritys are criminals. They provide no value to middle class Americans (assets under $1 million) that the big financial planning firms wont service. Middle class people should not dabble in financial planning and should just wing it to retirement. It is a evil evil corporation.
I agree that that this is merely a person who wanted to be an advisor and could not hack it. Ameriprise holds its advisors to compliance levels above the industry averages. Securities America, a subsidiary of Ameriprise has been causing a grunt of the lawsuits, they are not held to teh standards of Ameriprise Financial Advisors. Also, I'm ok with a broker receiving a commission. Do you work for free? To my understanding, no matter where I buy my life insurance someone is getting paid on it. As for fines, it's the nature of the beast. Every major firm has them. I'm not a huge fan of Ameriprise but they are no different than the other brokerage houses. Research any major company and I'm sure you'll find something. I guess your advice would be that we should all stop drinking coke cola due to their past lawsuits.
You are right about the commissions, and most companies face fines from time to time. However, I have worked for several firms including Ameriprise and their is a huge difference. Secondly, their annuity commissions are average to low in the industry. There are firms that pay as high as 8 to 9%. Ameriprise is about 5%; no different than a load on a mutual fund. Your gripe seems to be with insurance products. Annuities have there pros and cons and are not for everyone, still, your claims are unfounded. Check your facts.

You really must work for them...Enron had great performance at one time, so they must have had great management. Hundreds of millions in fines must really be helping the EPS (look it up dumb ass).
Ameriprise was #1 in fines last year. They have been involved in scandal after scandal. Bad place to use for financial advice. Everyone is leaving them.
This is dumb. You could do this with ANY Financial Firm out there. In fact, these fines are miniscule to what other major firms like Merril Lynch, Legg Mason, and Morgan Stanly experienced. Ameriprise must be doing something right though as their stock is up nearly 40% since it debutred last October. YOu must be a disgruntled employee who got fired cus you couldn't get any clients! LOL
Its amazing how one guy fired from a company years ago could continue to have it dominate every facet of his life. Impressive.
