and looks much better.

and that the fastest GN's/TTAs are FASTER than the fastest Supra's.

Supras are overrated riceburners. GNs and Turbo Trans Ams are FAR better

Does that really look like an 11 second gn, the owner didnt know at the time, but he had a blown intercooler boot. It was receiving some boost, but not much.

The car has run super low 7's and dipped into the 6.9x since.

All american muscle are v8 you dont know anything about cars obviously all t-ypes, grand nationals and gnx are v6 turbo intercooled (86-87) never mind the 1989 turbo t/a. mustang SVO were really fast and It has a 4cyl. Thats not a GNX my grand national is cloned into one and thats not even close. That GN definitely had a problem with it the take off was really weak! Turbo buicks rules!

fully modified supra vs fully modified gn= gn wins on 1/4, supra wins on top speed

Both cars are the greatest tuner 6 cylinders ever made (yes, i consider them greater than the rb26). So everyone stop beefing either of the two cars, because they both have made huge impacts on the tuning scene that it wouldn't make sense to respect one and not the other. The gn was the pioneer of turbo 6's, and the supra is its greatest successor.

Can't get it through some jackasses' heads that a stock supra does perform like that from the factory. That is a fully sponsored Supra and for that matter the GN, not GNX as some asshole who is trying to pass this off as a GNX vs Supra race, is to. Both are turbo charged 6 cylinders and if you listen you can tell the GN is a 6. The GN clearly had something wrong. Does not mean it would've won though.

Stock GN's, 86-87, came with an intercooled turbo 3.8L v6. 84-85 the same minus the intercooler. I can't tell by listening, but I do believe that this particular GN still has a v6.

What's not bs is that gn clearly had something wrong. Like I said before, this has been re posted several times.

So instead of all this crap about moded vs unmoded, take your stock 87 Supra and stock 87 GN or GNX and see who takes the 1/4 mile.

Neither one of these cars came from the factory remotely close to this performance level. These are fully sponsored cars with lot$ of $ invested in them. So to try and play it off like either is the king based on this is just plain stupid.

Iv seen stock Grandnationals beat moded supras before and my Black Regal GN look alike isnt even turboed and can beat a large amount of tuners to clearly guys.... there was something wrong with the GN or the guy wasnt pushing it.

It'ed be closer than you think. Stock Supra's aren't any faster than an LS1 F-body, which means mid 13's. The GNX, in the rare event you'ed actually meet up with one at a light concidering there are only 547 of em some of which didn't make it over the passed 25 years, ran just that, mid 13's. Lord have mercy if a stock supra ever came up against an 89 TTA pace car. It'ed get its clock cleaned.

To each is own and I respect that. However, I would take a GNX over any vehicle(of that "class").

In 87 and the decade of the 80's, the GNX has the top stop as the fastest us production car.

Once again, put your stock supra from 87 against a stock GNX. See who takes the finish line first.

Sorry, I wasn't knockin the supra. It's damn fast. I think I was more upset at comments like "tuner beating muscle at their own game", when the gnx didn't even do a legit run.

Besides, american cars aren't designed to just go straight anymore. This isn't the 60's. Camaros, vettes, mustangs....they all make great road coarse cars.

Kudos to the supra though. A win's a win.
