  • This is the first song I learned to play on guitar when I was 15.

  • The A-level art class are doing Andy Worhol - so i told the teacher about this song. She then played it on repeat. :3 I was happy to pass on the bowie love!

  • @Rickylareau13 No "Master of Puppets" have a "Andy Warhol" riff.

  • still the best!

  • Omng Metallica copied there main riff for master of puppets from this song!!!

  • @mikehpecora - geeez I thought the exact same thing.....

  • OBEY YOUR MASTER Mister Bowie!!!!

  • @TVybe Aha samee!!

  • I loved "The Man Who Fell to Earth". It's really a great film, even if it didn't have Bowie in it, but it does and so it's completely 100% awesome.

  • Teiji89 i agree on it if that means something to you

  • 2:10 ........ how COOL can a man be!!!!

  • RHCP under the bridge

  • @SpykerZaggato84

John wrote the guitar heavly inspired by this song :)

  • bowie played this song to andy warhol when they first met, when the song finished warhol looked at bowie,s feet and said ......nice shoes

  • This is my favorite Bowie song of all time. I hate to say it but Scott Weiland redid this pretty well.

  • master of puppets stole this? that's sooo fucking stupid they have like 1 note SIMILARITY in the intro and riff, seriously people think before you post, if your serious that is.

  • @scottish8x The intro and the mainriff are different but the one right after Kirk's solo is just about same with some variation.

  • Warhol, about this song: "Oh, I don't think I look a scream"

One genius singing about another genius - fabulous!

  • This is absolutely vile. And in a world where "BAD" equals "GOOD" this song is tremendous. - I hope to achieve the same with my new "AWFUL SERIES." - GARTEL )))

  • love the picture with hoggle, made me laugh XD

  • God, I just cannot understand the reason why there are people out there disliking David Bowie videos. Well, 7 out of 224 is never a great deal, but still !

  • metallica sucks. bowie rocks.

  • @TmasterREY your mother sucks

  • @markthebest90 how did you know my mother was in Metallica?

  • @TmasterREY she said it to me last night...however, metallica is a great band, why did u say that they suck?

  • ...chili peppers did it better :)

  • It's Warhol..actually...as in holes

  • sounds like metallica :D

  • I like Metallica!

  • Oh Yeah . . .I have been singing songs off this album for over 30 years, y'know in the shower & stuff. Bloody brilliant. Wish he would do some more like this with acoustic guitars & so forth. I suppose times have changed . . .sighhhh

  • hail hunky dory!

  • sounds like the intro riff from under the bridge

  • @hoptop77 Red hot chilli's wrote under the bridge by using this song and another, watch this vid "watch?v=WIvjxI6QGxE"

  • if David Bowie were about 45 years younger, Id marry him.

  • I like this song. Andy Warhol didn't, it was said ...

  • andy warhol can kiss a sack

  • would you mind sending me these pictures in a file or something? their beautiful *.*<3333

  • this song is even better w/ vuvuzela lol XD

  • where did you get the third pic?

  • every rock/pop song in the past 40 years was really a david bowie song

  • Master Of Puppets!

  • God, I hadn't heard this song in SO long..

  • i love the one with bobby pyn(young darby crash) and bowie with this matching lightning bolt

  • Lol, how can you run out of David Bowie pics?

My PC is chocked FULL of them!!!!

    LOL.... *joking* :D

    A good 50 i think... maybe 60 :D

  • @Lozzeii I have about 700! 200 of which are just from the Ziggy Stardust era!

  • @RandomRosa Lol i know its amazing... i thought if i told you how many i really had i'd just get spammed or somthing people saying, nah you cna;t have that many hahahha :P

Yeah i have about that too :D

  • The beginning is probably the best ever.

  • Man ,I heard some people saying that Metallica copied this song for "master of puppets" but it' is only one riff that's really similar buit thats all

  • @youtubbeisshit see ive been listenin to both songs just and i can hear it at all lol. but ive no idea wat this exact riff sounds like with sum overdrive/distortion wateva effects are used :L

  • i liked it!.

  • Master. MASTER. Master of Puppets was inspired by this song.

  • @EruptionINmyPants what? really? how so

  • @linkgcuk oh yahh. 0:52 tht sounds like the bridge after the solo on master. idk i heard it somewhere else and checked the song and i definitely see a striking resemblance haha

  • @EruptionINmyPants yeah I see it, but you can hardly say it was taken from Andy Warhol. Both songs are written in D, thats probably why the scales are the same.

  • @linkgcuk noob

  • Hunky Dory was personally one of my favorite albums but I don't know if people agree with me on that.

  • @Teiji89 I disagree sir! That was NOT your favorite album...

  • @Teiji89 I totally agree with you there, I got it a while ago on vinyl =)

  • @Teiji89 love Hunky Dory!!!!!

  • @Teiji89 I concur completely;) Fantastic album; not one duff song on it;)

  • @Teiji89 It's the best one

  • @Teiji89 Easily Bowies best

  • @Teiji89

Toss up between Hunky Dory or Aladdin Sane for me. Both are such excellent albums.

  • @Teiji89 I agree with you on that. It might be one of your favorite albums.

  • Wow.

  • you got it vato... liked da random rosa gift man.... success!

  • ah, he's just plain awesome

  • Great song...I love david bowie!!! <3

  • Very first take of this song - and it's on the album - when was the last time that happened?

  • Thank you for finally putting this up. Was getting so annoying to try and find it.

  • Great song! I miss the one with the Warhol pics, though.

  • dont give popemczowzow a thumbs down. hes not being mean its the truth. john does say that. but i dont really care because he is my favorite guitarist haha

  • the photo at 1:08 is tremendously awful

  • yes

  • HOGGLE!!!

  • John Frusciante said he ripped this song off when he wrote "Under the Bridge"

  • and Trex

  • isnt there a part of Master of Puppets that uses that main riff?

  • i have always said that

  • lol i hear it too, sounds like the part right after the Master of Puppets solo

  • Actually Master of Puppets was taken from this.

Bowie wrote this song back in 1971.

  • *sigh* That's what I said. I said there's a riff in Master of Puppets that is very similar to the main riff in this song.

  • Sorry mate, When I wrote that I was just coming back from a party, and I wasn't using all my senses hehe.

    My bad!

  • @sydgerald and so was under the bridge..look up under the bridge rip-offs, he said that he used this for the intro

  • yes, in master of puppets that riff, is after the solo...

  • Yep. Also the song Leper Messiah is derived from a lyric of Ziggy Stardust.

  • it's very similar, but Ronson's riff has a couple more notes on the D

  • David is a genius!

  • A poet in an age when poetry has long been forgotten.

  • forever and always- he's a genius, aye? (:

  • You're too clever Dave...

    Tony SAID ! WarHOL,actualy.

    As in holes....Oh....you meant...

    pronounce.WarHAL....as in halls.

    Now I'm confused,what's it to be ?

  • Correction....produced by Ken Scott ♫

    Not Visconty ☻

  • Classique Bowie - even the sax segue way and opening dialog between he and engineer is Bow-i-fide...good post!

  • What do you think it should be Greg ?

  • Did a cover of the song in the garage last sunday. It's on the page.

  • I think you shoud`ve put pictures of Andy Warhol, it`s a song about him ;p and I think his pictures are more interesting than David Bowie`s :d

  • Andy Warhol always looked the same. I have a problem taking an artist with a reported IQ of 86 seriously.

  • Why is 86 really good?

  • Are you pretending not to know or are you being serious? If you are serious, 86 is borderline retarded. Nine out of ten people have a higher IQ.

  • I'm afraid I was being a tad sarcastic. I just dont understand why you think someones intelligence would devalue their art

  • I think it requires quite a bit of intelligence to be able to say something significant and interesting. Most artists of any merit have an IQ significantly above the avarage.

  • lol metallica ripped this off

  • Nice pics! Some I've never seen before. Good job!

  • Thank you. Glad you liked! :)

  • David Bowie, homeboy, representin'!

  • Chameleon

  • This human Camillion never stops to amaze me !

  • This comment is funny. You mean never "ceases" to amaze me.

  • mobyboy,

Ignore these comments from people who want to "correct" your sentence. I see in your profile you are not from America or an english speaking country. I'll bet money that the people who are so concerned about correcting you speak only one language. Just forget about them and their rudeness. I understood what you meant. And so did they. They're just being rude.

    Have a good day! : )

  • *correction: you are not from a country where english is the dominant language, from what I understand. Still, it seems to me that you understand english better than they probably understand any other language besides english!

    Peace!

  • love this song but why wasnt in on his best of bowie album?????! i collect albums....and only mostly listen to the best albums out there.

  • the strings r spot on in thiis tune what else from bowie nothing but the best

  • master of puppets...O.O

  • akifmjladnfa.ldsewaradggfhgasd

    srsly awesome

  • für meinen Geschmack ist das eines der allerbesten Stücke von Bowie, und vor allem eines der Auffälligsten. einfach Wahnsinn!

  • David Bowie is cute !

  • *face punch*

  • you obviously dont know good music when you hear it, i mean stp's version is alrite but this is the original, and nothing beats the original

  • u fool

  • Great song.....loved the video,Rosa, especially the end bit.x

  • where did you get he great pics from ??

    LOVE BOWIE FOR EVER!

  • I get them from various websites, and I horde them! If there's any you really want, I can probably remember where I found them for you.

  • great Bowie photos!

is that true, that Andy Warhol hated this song?

    too bad.

  • I think he did, yeah. Silly man! :)

  • well, i just read Bowie wrote the song to be tongue-in-cheek, and i can see how it would be...

it's a brilliant, little piece of harmony and dissonance; it's immortalizing, even, with a left-handed honor of sorts.

come on, Bowie writes a song about somebody, they should take it and enjoy it.

  • He liked Bowie in general, but he apparently left the room when he heard the lyrics 'Andy Warhol looks a scream' because he was a very vain man. So yes, he hated this song. Unlike the rest of us.

  • Andy hated this song.

  • rly?

  • Kinda like how furry hated "Furry sings the blues"?

  • Yeah.

  • the man with the 1000 faces !

  • And the 2,706 profile views!

  • gosh this is great! i love it! a job well done! i just love that picture at 21 seconds! where did you find it!!! thanks for this A+

  • I found it on the Ziggy Stardust Companion site. They have a whole gallery of shots by Sukita, and they are all amazing!

  • thankyou :oD

  • Honestly Rosa, I really must say how very much I admire your work - you've really envy so much the way you compile the pictures and make them fit so great & natural to the lyrics and the music! [And I'm not saying this only to impose you!] No, you're so good, and it's obvious without too much of any flattering words! I'm looking forward to see what you'll publish the next. Keep up this good work Rosa. Sincerely; Tobbe!

  • OH Dear Rosa! I'm totally speechless! WHAT a surprise! Rosa! You've really included the in-between-tracks-talks, in the beginning of this song - that I mentioned to you in my earlier comments! I havn't heard it since I played the vinyl original record a good bunch of years ago! It sure brings all the wonderful memories so freshly back to me! I cannot thank you well enough Rosa! So what are you planning to get your hands on the next? In all modesty, may I suggest "Time" from the 'Alladin Sane'?

  • Wow, thanks! So much praise! I've started doing Song For Bob Dylan now, but I'll try and remember Time for next time!

    RR x

  • I take that back, I meant Eight Line Poem, not Song For Bob Dylan! *smacks forehead*

  • just LOve This Song!
