Just a tip for drawing the straight lines, you can use your middle finger as a guide for where you want the line, and unless your hands shake, you can draw quite straight lines parrarel to the sides and each other

You could have made a real trigger, like the ones you see in pistols, which is used by your "pointing" finger. Such trigger is shaped as a sideways "s". It's not that hard, it works very similar to your "thumb-push" trigger.

I am about to make one that is attatched to my arm. It excludes the shape of the body of your crossbow (the main piece) but the rest is will be to great help when I finally get going with my own. I will be using ALL plywood and thats a challenge too.

@Corn3yman Try using really strong wood glue or just a bunch of hot glue. The bow here is being held by two pieces of wood stuck closely together, like a vice.

@rmukweyi As long as you need it. There are no exact dimensions, just a guide to follow.  Cut the basic shape and slowly cut/sand it down until it fits, thats what I did.
