I remember this glitch back in the days. It was in such an epic scale that an university had made a request to Blizzard to study the data. The university wanted to know how ordinary people would react to a global plaque. And the university wanted to know how diseases could spread out and how fast. So, everything weren't really planned. And people would get the diseases simultaneously.

The Hakkar in original ZG had debuff called Corrupted Blood. Pretty much harmless to people at level 60, it was only supposed to work in ZG. But it spread out with people and their pets and this happened. :p

Yeah,this was a huge thing a got across a bunch of different servers,and was mainly due to glitches such as where hunters pets would get the debuff before being despawned/whatever during the Hakkar fight,then when they were resummoned they would still have the debuff,and all hell broke loose from that point forward as it spread rapidly,killing lower level characters instantly,and people would flee from civilization to avoid getting the debuff.It was an acurate representation of real life plagues

Man, everybody got aids and shit!

And no it won't be happening in 4.1. This wasn't an "event" or at least not a planned event. This was caused by an ability Hakkar would use in the boss fight. It would spread to raid members and was supposed to be cleansed or just die out when the raid wiped. ..but people would hearth back to Orgrimmar and spread the infection before it ran it's course. The blood disease was eventually hotfixed to be removed if you left ZG.

the disease came from the son's of hakkar you had to pull while fighting hakkar. once killed, the sons of hakkar dropped a green cloud of poisonous stuff and the group had to run into this cloud, recieved a debuff and shortly after hakkar would start to cast his blood sucking rays into the raid. players infected with the debuff would then reduce the hp of hakkar instead of raising it.

hunter pets got infected too, but hakkar wasnt targeting them, so the debuff stayed and got OUT!

@elmuhaerte That was "Poisoned Blood", this is "Corrupted Blood", a different Debuff that is more akin to the Lich King's Necrotic Plague- in that would bounce to other players and would force you have those who get it to run away from the raid to avoid it jumping to other raid members (Unlike N. Plauge, Corrupted Blood jumps on tick, rather than kill).

I remember this one time on Bronzebeard in goldshire, this infernal just popped out of the sky, and killed everyone. I think it was a gm rager, cant be sure. Then there was this demon guy who charged into SW and corpse camped us untill people actually decided to deal with it. I dont think that one was just a GM, people needed him for a quest.... If anyone knows any backround on that I would love to hear.

@ieumlikemuzik well, that was the Patch 2.0 Classic to Burning Crusade Event where Infernals spawned everywhere and a "Kazzak" like Encounter raided the Citys. Which was actually a pain to kill cause of shadow orb aoe and level 10+ Players who died like instantly of it. (every kill the encounter made healed the bastard for like 10%) :>

and there will be no GM ever spawning anything. its just not what they do. they arent allowed to alter the gameplay by spawning item's, npc's and such stuff.

It's actually a pretty famous occurrence in the world of pathology(study of diseases) It started when a hunter summoned his pet who had died/been dismissed during the battle with hakkar. The pet brought it back to the real world(as opposed to the instance) and it spread like wildfire once it got to orgrimmar. It simulates near perfectly the spread of diseases in the real world. people still study it.

@squareenixfreak1 It wasn't kiting. A hunter or warlock infected his pet and dismissed it while the plague was on it. Then summoned it back in orgrimmar and the plague spreads like you saw in the clip.

It's not possible anymore as the plague can't travel outside ZG anymore.

This is actually a debuff....hakkar gives it to players and they take Blood damage over time...but once u get out of the instance u lose that debuff...but some players found out that they can give that debuff on their pets and when they leave the instance they still have the debuff....so u go in a capital city with that debuff and since it spreads it kills everyone....Great Job now gimme money to reapair my gear xD

To any of you who think this is fake, this is actually real: There was a glitch after patch day where Hakkar's blood curse never cleared off of hunter pets after the instance. When you got to orgrimmar, the curse spread from pets to players. then from players to players. eventually gm's had to get in there and restart the server
