alright so I had this working for like 2 or 3 weeks perfectly, then I think I updated it from the phone now it won't work anymore, did the update do that?

@TekNewsASAP There's a guide on the PreCentral forums that shows how to do it. but I can't find anywhere. I tried looking for it for you guys.

@TekNewsASAP After that, open "App Catalog" and check for updates, there is an update for Mobile HotSpot. I did that, and after I was able to turn it on. Work like a charm!

There is a way to hack the pre to make it work but I won't doing it because of the risks involved, but if you are very tech savvy you can search the PreCentral forums for a tutorial. Again, I don't recommend doing this as there are alternatives such as MyTether.

and also when i open the freetether app i do not show any IP address in the WAN information line either.. in ur video it shows it in the line on ur phone..help me out here..

I continue to get an error box appearing when i install the "us.ryanhope.freetetherd_0.0.3­_armv7.ipk" file...why am i receiving this...so after i finish installing all 3 diff files. then i restarted phone and open 'tether' and switch enable, then i turned hotspot on, go to connect to my comp and a pop up on my phone says i do not have priviledges through sprint to tether. '' ????? "

Thats wierd. Maybe Sprints starting to do something.... I havent noticed that happening to me. Try my other video with the IP forwarding tutorial.

I did the following steps and now have Mobile Hotspot on my Pre. My laptop picks up the network and connects but says I only have Local Access. How do I fix this?

Check that IP forwarding is enabled just in case. I've had this problem to and I got it to work by disabling tethering, turning the laptop wireless off and turning it all back on.

Make sure that: airplane mode is off, you get a good EVDO signal, and that you turned on IP forwarding
