@BlkAmerPncS I also got the DVD from walmart it wasn't the copy it was the production company they recently re release the movie with all the parts check amazon or eBay
@SableWWFOriginalDiva I also had this problem I had brought the VHS twice and the DVD a while ago everybody on amazon.com complain about the same problem so ive heard they re released the movie with all the parts last yr
I have this movie on DVD, and skips like crazy. The first time I watched it, it skipped the church scene, and then just cut off. WTF? So, I went to buy another one, and it did the exact same thing.
Finally! Thanks for the upload. I hope this one shows everything, the dvd I got from Walmart screwed up the whole movie. It cut out so many parts. This movie is one of my top 5. I hope the play come back to D.C.
I saw part of this movie on tv the other night. I have to watch the whole thing! It looks sooo good! Like one of those movies you'd never forget about.
If anybody knows anything about any Oprah Winfrey made-for-TV movies that aired on ABC sometime between 200-2005, that had a documentary/interviewswith the cast AFTER the film, AND that fits the scenes description below... PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! reply to this post! thank you!
@countrycat95 Winfrey hasn't done a movie since Beloved. Beloved was in theatres in 1998 and premiered on TV around 2000. The movie was heavily editied for TV. I know that they did a documentary with interviews for that film. Are you SURE it wasn't Beloved?
@deedeesnicks That was a made for TV movie, but I couldn't remember if she had a child die in it or not. Either way it was a good movie too and worth the watch.
@watchalotovids Turns out that it wasnt an Oprah movie... I strongly thought it was, but a fellow Youtube watcher replied back and answered my cry for help (haha). I was told that the movie im looking for might be Cora Unashamed. It was a made for TV movie on PBS and it fits most of my description. I'm not 100% sure thats my movie, but its a start. Thanks for the help! :)
HELLO EVERYBODY! I need you help! I am trying to find the name of an old african american movie that I watched when I was really little. I believe the movie was a made-for-TV movie by Oprah Winfrey. I only remember ONE thing about the movie... A woman's (presumably Oprah's) female child dies due to an illness. The child was anywhere from 6-13 years old. I remember her crying over her grave, but thats all I remember. I remember thinking that the movie was really sad, but also very good. If
@K2quared I checked Beloved, and that could have been it, but I kinda doubt it. That movie was very graphic and I was still in elementary at the time I saw the movie, so that prolly wasn't it. :( thanks anyways though. If you think of anything else, plz let me know :)
talk about old school.. i remember seein this movie as a lil girl. it described woman dealing with every situation, and showed how strong a woman can be to bring herself out of the situation.
Dear Mixed, I love you whoever you are. I have looked for this upload for the longest and I didn't think it was here. Typed it in for the heck of it and lo and behold. Thank you for your kindness....
WOW! I love this movie...hard to find too...I just bought it and my "borrowed" it...I'll never get it back..so thanks for the upload....and is Vesta blowin this song or what????
YES!!!! VESTA IS NOT PLAYING ON THAT SONG! I wish there was footage of her doing this concert somewhere. I can so see KIm Burrell tearing this up also.
Did Basil (Oprah Winfrey Character's Son) Died? I Knew He Got In Trouble With the Law At First. Did They Just Kill Him Out of the Story Or Did He Go to Prison for Life???
@limitedgirl : Thank you for answering my question...somehow, Basil's fate is never clear to me when watching this-Luv the Movie, though #BrilliantActing!!
Thank you so much for uploading!!! Like others, I have been hoping someone would post this movie. I just heard it came on television tonight but I don't have that channel. You are awesome!!
@nutmegbear4u Do you know the name of this song? Is it part of a full song, or was it just done for the purpose of the theme song? This song has been in my head since last week when the movie came on TV, which by the way I have not scene since I was a teenager. I've got to find a way to put this song on my IPHONE so I can listen to it over and over again.
Thank You so much for uploading this I have been looking for it for a long time! I think its like the older version of For Colored Girls its sort of like the foundation only its conflicts are much deeper but thank you again!
Go to Amazon.com and search for the complete unedited version- u will be pleased!!
