@francisco61261 Fair enough. I'll concede that the new GTO's look like Cavaliers and such. But I love my GTO because it's a military thing and it reminds me of my years of service. I don't have exact #'s but there are tons of us military types who own GTO's and I think it goes back to the camaraderie we have between Oz and the US. Many of us enjoyed time in Oz on orders and because they were with us in WWII, it's a car we connect with. Owned Chevy's and GM for almost 40 yrs so that helps too.LTR
its not a monaro its a Pontiac gto with an ls2 corvet engine in it this is america not the uk or Australia the sound is the loppy sound of the cam in the ws6 but it needs some real rubber

@TupacX2Pak A Supra's stock performance specs (the twin turbo'd one) and its curb weight are very similar to stock specs and weight of the TA and GTO in this video. The NA version of the 2JZ only made around 220hp to the crank. I'm not hating on Supra's cause they are great cars and I like them, but i'm just saying. It needs a twin turbo set up to keep up with the NA V8's stock vs. stock. As is the case with almost all 4cyl and and many 6cyl cars.

Its a V6 98-2002 Firebird cause if you look at the front bumper on the T/As the foglights are more in the center and the V6 Firebirds are off to the side a little like the one in the video. Google image a T/A and a V6 Firebird and you'll see the difference between a T/A and a V6 Firebird. Theres alot of different details to tell the difference between a V6 Firebird from an actual T/A. He just put a WS6 hood on his Firebird ,but still was a good race.
@kylejheard91 Agree. Maybe drag bags or different size stub shafts to reduce the harmonics. On the IRS one of the fixes they sell is to have one shaft a bit larger than the other which tends to reduce the hop. Mines still stock but it's a goal I have if and when I stop working in Iraq. WS6 is a suspension upgrade and ram air package folks- there is little to no difference in speed between a WS6 code car and a "normal" WS9 code LS1, Pontiac f-body.

Looks like the driver of the TA put different rims /tires on the rear prob a buddies slicks or drag radials .. now I dont see any smoke or even remnents of smoke in the video so if thats what he did the tires werent warm enough so he spun/lost traction .

A formula would be 320 if it's a WS6, the TA would be 305hp unless it's a WS6 then it would be 320 and the firehawk was at the best I've seen it advertised in a 4th gen @ 345. Now, the 1992, 3rd gen formula firehawk was advertised at 350hp 350tq
@BlackBirdv6 the difference is in the tune, and sometimes the block and heads. if your statement was correct entirely then my 2k z28 would be no different than a c5 vette, in power.
@killacam512 corvettes came with both the ls1 and ls6, but the ls1 vettes had the same power as the ls1 fbodies, major difference between the 2 is weight.
@BlackBirdv6 Thats not true. They have minute diffences. I.E. Intake setup, exhaust setup, etc. The transmission has nothing to do with you horsepower. If you've ever watched a dyno run, it's done in 4th gear for about 2k-2500 rpms to red line.
@GoGhetta1994 1. the tranny has everything to do with rwhp. an auto always stock for stock makes less rwhp. 2 the exhausts on all fbodies was the same except the slp cars. 3. the intakes were either ls1 or ls6 . and maybe 4th gear in a 6 speed, 3rd gear in an auto
@ztwntyn8 firehawk =350hp/390tq. SLP ordered got that to 390hp. A friend had a 2002 TA with 380hp factory. Now sure how, or what option, but it was 380hp.
@TypeZeroRacing --all you have to do to find out if it's a real ws6 is look for the ws6 option code on the tag on the driver's door....a lot easier than running a VIN on it...
Ignorant comment towards the TA driver. The bad launch wasn't his fault, it was the rear tires he had. They're no good and he usually puts them on to cruise around in, not to race.
Ive got 315 drag radials on my ws6 and i spin just a little an ran a 12.93 with only dr's and 3 point sfc. Just ordered kooks lt 1 7/8 headers and kooks off road true dual exhaust.
I dont care how much hp u have..if u cant get traction ur gonna lose every time..Ive beaten Vettes in 1/8 mile with a bolt on 2000t/a...out hp by 100hp...but not going side ways ..a perfect example of this is SRT8 cherokees making muscle cars look silly with all the weight of a suv.. AWD traction..

@GoGhetta1994 cam = approx 500 with springs, 150 shot of nitrous = 500, headers ory and exhaust about 1000-1500, tune 400. theres 2900 dollars max, and if your not making close to 500hp you have issues

@derrickfromsomerset They are ALL firebirds, with different trim levels. There's the base Firebird, the Firebird Formula, the Firebird Trans Am, and the Firebird Firehawk, but they are all Firebirds.

@apharot Formula = 310hp. T/A = 335hp. Firehawk = 390hp. Big difference there in performance. I think this was the 310hp Formula.

A formula would be 320 if it's a WS6, the TA would be 305hp unless it's a WS6 then it would be 320 and the firehawk was at the best I've seen it advertised in a 4th gen @ 345. Now, the 1992, 3rd gen formula firehawk was advertised at 350hp 350tq

@killacam512 corvettes came with both the ls1 and ls6, but the ls1 vettes had the same power as the ls1 fbodies, major difference between the 2 is weight.

@BlackBirdv6 Thats not true. They have minute diffences. I.E. Intake setup, exhaust setup, etc. The transmission has nothing to do with you horsepower. If you've ever watched a dyno run, it's done in 4th gear for about 2k-2500 rpms to red line.

@GoGhetta1994 1. the tranny has everything to do with rwhp. an auto always stock for stock makes less rwhp. 2 the exhausts on all fbodies was the same except the slp cars. 3. the intakes were either ls1 or ls6 . and maybe 4th gear in a 6 speed, 3rd gear in an auto

@ztwntyn8 firehawk =350hp/390tq. SLP ordered got that to 390hp. A friend had a 2002 TA with 380hp factory. Now sure how, or what option, but it was 380hp.
