My used Glock 19 came with a slug plug when I bought it. it's more flush with the frame compare to yours but that's not the point. The point is after 500 rounds I noticed carbon deposit buildup on the interior part of the slug plug so I removed it. Also the M&P and XD series pistols are both designed with the intention of being service pistols but the user can't attach a lanyard right out of the box without aftermarket parts. The hole is there to keep the pistol clean(may not apply to MP and XD)
FYI.... I keep hearing internet rumors that the "butt plug" causes dirt build up in your gun. So II called Glock directly and talked to one of the support reps. and asked them directly about if the "butt plug" causes any problems or dirt build up, and he told me "no".

the hole behind the magazine is there to make it so you can pull your mag out if you get a double feed.

Won't that affect the water drainage, just incase you were on a kayak and need to let loose a round under water for what ever emergency reason.

Thanks for the info. Yeah Internet rumors spread pretty fast. They wouldn't sell them if they were a detriment to the operation of the gun.
