@LongHuntre Hey, thanks for the comment! I'm a little reluctant to say exactly how much I pay for my books - maybe because I'm British and we don't like to talk about money :P I might start giving ballpark figures though. Also if I start spreading around low prices I may have picked books up for this could ultimately damage the FMV. The Cap book in question was under $50 though.
Those books are in very nice shape and your correct about people in the US being too suspect about buying from overseas. I often purchase from the UK and get super unbelievable deals and never had a problem. I make myself aware of the seller ratings and stats, buy insurance and the fastest shipping available and i'm in like Flint. I bought all my early Hulks from UK at what would have cost me 3 times as much over here! One of the best kept secrets!
@captainstrangelife Totally! Although you have to be mindful of UK price variants, store stamps, and worst of all the dreaded price sticker affixed over the 'cents value'. Sometimes it wont show up in an eBay scan, but you find label residue around the price box where a sticker has been removed :( As you have said though, if you do your research there are plenty of bargains to be had!
TTA go real cheap at times on ebay...Captain America 100 is a great pickup... A major key- well done! Already worth a tidy sum... will probably gain in Value after the Movie....Every week auctions on ebay get overlooked, and you can 'get lucky'....Yeah...I've found you can get some great deals from UK sellers sometimes too- nice pickups man, Cheers!
@cTcSpirit Hey - sorry for the delayed reply. Thanks for the comment :) I will probably be looking to flip the Captain America book but not sure whether the peak time will be just before the movie's release, during, or a bit afterwards... Would appreciate your thoughts on the matter!
Yes your back from the dead lol !!! Always great to hear from you mate, Got to say you are right about the Tales to Astonish covers its nice to have different characters like Hulk, Sub-Mariner, Giant Man sharing the same series. You can get great covers like that TTA # 98 btw its also my favorite cover as well !!! And ya great deal on that Captain America # 100 looks to be in great shape, even I go for that and am not even a huge Cap fan !!! Great video as allways mate, Cheers !!!
@74SOOSOO Hey! Yeah I hope to catch up with you in the vid stakes soon! Need to loosen my wallet and start targeting some good Silver Age keys. I have a sneaky suspicion I'm gonna end up collecting Cap books purely by accident... I can't say no to Silver Age Marvel stuff...
Great vid Rob, some real nice additions to your collection! I have a real fondness for that TTA #90, the cover is amazing! That Cap book really is a great book too, I think once you give the series a try you will want to keep it :) Looking forward to more vids in the future mate!
@showerman88 Thanks for the comment mate. Will deffo give Cap a chance. I always find it hard to part with books and I imagine this will be no exception! While I remember - I'm probably heading off to California later in the year so you should give me a shopping list while I'm Stateside :D
