Your Social Anxiety Disorder and what you go through with it sounds a lot like mine..When anxiety takes over, it totally turns us into a shell of who we really are and that makes it almost impossible to share our true selves with others. I know what you are going through.i know this is controversial in the SAD community, but are you taking medication, it really does help.
Oh my goodness.... I've seen alot of vídeos on people with SAD and i've been able to empathize with them, but seeing this video of how you're involved in church and trying to turn your anxieties over to God really moved me. Thank you for posting this video because im going through the exact same thing; Many Blessings!
@musicisgood88 That Is one of the main reasons for making this video. I do believe that all of us can get better and alway remember Peter 1 5 7 Cast your cares to the Lord for He cares for you. If you don't mind me asking do you belong to a community of faith. I have found the other believers at my church to be a fount of caring and help
Bro, this is so weird its like your talking about me. Everything you spoke about in this video I can really relate to.Its also interesting how this soxial anxiety affects so many, no matter what religion.I'm a Muslim by the way.
@insanebuzzie Anyone can make a video, I am sure that you can make one. My anxiety has been kind of bad I didn't post one in about a month. Stay strong
@insanebuzzie me neither, i used to make videos not knowing I had the disorder, and one day i ended up deleting them all even without knowing i had it.
@AutotuneGuy I'm sorry to hear that. We will get through this. On a plus note your videos may still be out there in the internet ether. I did a search on my screenname and found that my videos were on both Japanese and indonesian websited go fig
@AVoiceCrying33 ya it's not really a big deal, i'm getting help for it in a couple days. I'm looking for a psychiatrist and looking forward to this long road.
@AutotuneGuy The road to recovery is very hard work but it has a great payoff in the end. Hope you find a good psychiatrist and know that God is with you in this battle
@sengehmusic I know how it feels. I was miserable in school. I haven't been able to get a job yet. I had one interview and I barely spoke a word. I've been online recently looking for help.
"And yes I do know that there is a small amount of irony of someone with a social anxiety disorder having a video blog" lol that's what I was thinking. I'm too afraid to post a video.
@thecheesburgler You can do it. I have a hard time posting videos sometimes as well. I haven't posted one in almost 3 weeks, But I am going to try to post another today
@sengehmusic No creepy about it. An interesting insight. I don't think my hypochondria is linked into my depression though. Hope your brother gets better
@sengehmusic Well It started when I was 10, I got a nasty stomach virus and that led to my more hypochodriachal anxieties, MY social anxiety got worse in High School. But you are right, we have to think more positively. We have to continue to do things that are anxiety doesn't want us to. that is the only way to fight this. That and Prayer has helped me a lot as well
Damn you just made it worse on ur self dude, the socialy anxiety is a lie that you put it in your head and u believe it and now your video just prove it a fact that you have a sa lie
"I only know what to say when I'm talking about my faith". Remember what the gospel tells us about the Holy Spirit? We won't even have to think about what to say as the Holy Spirit speaks through us. Now brother, you know your purpose in life. Never let this cup pass from you as it's Father's gift to you.
@westernciviliznation Thank you and God Bless you as well. I look to Jesus' prayer at Gethsemenee as a great template of prayer. And I know in this pain, He is there guiding me and growing me
@SheCrazzzy15 Thank you Shecrazy. It is when we are in our darkest moments that we need God the most.
I don't think I will ever be cured I think I will always have the thoughts but I do believe that both in you and I, the thoughts will be easy to control and won't control us
i havent been officially diagnosed with socialy anxiety disorder or anything, but i do think i might have it. i can relate to a lot of the stuff you said. i pretty much just avoid people and when i do have interaction with people, i always think about my choice of words, what i could've said, and i dwell on it for days. i think part of it stems from immense insecurity due to an eating disorder i used to have. really hoping it'll improve for me...best wishes to you too.
@megan235 I know that feeling. I have found that being part of a faith community has helped me a lot. Having friends who love unconditionaly helps alot to keep the demons at bay.
i have the same thing u have. i went through post traumatic stress disorder. ADD, and social anxiety disorder. i took care of the PTSD stuff already...its just the social anxiety im trying to get through. ..so basically im stir crazy . ..i havent had a job in...4 years...im 22 years old now.. and i know im still young. but i always worry about this social anxiety. i been a quiet person...for 10 years now. and i came back from a social event last night. and i became so isolated and angry.
@shapman87 I'm sorry Shapman it will get better. we get better and then we get worse but we can make it out. Faith has helped me a lot in this manner. I tell people I am on the tripod system Prayer, Therapy and Medication. I hope and pray that you can get out of this as well.
This Darkness wants us to be alone and isolated and I for one do not want to live that way
I have some anxiety. Just not to this extent. I panic all the time, and my heart goes out to you. I'm only 14 going on 15 and it's getting worse because I push myself more and more to be normal.
@ccc624948 This disorder wants us to be alone and that is why we can't give up and we have to go out and do things, make friends ect. The more you do the better it will be eventually.
Thank you for your kind words. It will get better. although having this disorder and being a teenager can be the worst. My heart goes out to you as well
You probably have a mild form of ADD. You feel disconnected because you don't know how to listen to people. You have to learn EFFECTIVE LISTENING skills.
I had the same problem, but I cured myself. Being with people is fun if you listen - people will be drawn to you because they like to TALK. All you have to do is listen and ask questions. The one who listens controls the conversation!!

Hi , in your videos, I felt like you were unhappy. Truth is I felt that way ( like of extreme social phobia) for so long. I recently started seeing these videos and feel that there are more people like me. To make things worse I also am a gay. I hurts me so much....I trust in god....... don't know
@Dblecheezburger Well the two go hand in hand. It's relational fear of offending, fear of knowing what to say ect. But dealing with the fear and managing social relations are much more rewarding than living a life of solitude
I have a fear of 1-1 interview situations. It got so bad last time that my head started shaking and I couldn't keep eye contact, I had to walk out it got so bad and pretended I was feeling ill. Now I'm scared to get myself in the same situation incase it happens again but I really need a full time job. I'm kind of stuck and it's making me miserable.
@charbala It is difficult but in my weakness He is my strength and the more I fight the illness, the more I die to to myself and do God's work, the stronger I feel, although it isn't easy
LOOK PEOPLE IN THEIR EYES no one gave you SAD, not even you did. its just are bodies reaction to things we dont wanna say or do...when u care too much of what people say YOU ARE GIVING THEM POWER THEY DONT DESERVE. just bounce back, and i promise the biggest thing that will help and helped me. look people in their eyes, i know its uncomfortable but you will notice they are doing the same thing to you..eye contact..simple and effective, you will notice yourself connecting, a wonderful feeling..
i have the same disorder. it feels like people are staring at me all the time, so i never go outside in the day time. i am not able to work because i dont want anyone getting anywhere near me. i never sleep at night because sleeping at night gives me nightmares. right now i am waiting on my application for disability. i hate going outside. i have a psychiatrist appt in 13 days for my final disability evaluation.
@SimpleSunim Good luck, just know that you are not alone, thousands if not millions around the world suffer from anxiety disorders, I have found that the tripod approach helps. Prayer, therapy, and medication in that order.
I also realized that most people are thinking more about themselves then me and that has helped me
Dude, check out Tyler Durden's series on building core confidence. It did much more for me than any anxiety meds (valium!!) ever did watch?v=boXH-YhJp_s
Yes, I have to force myself too and it is a horrible feeling forcing ourselves all the time. I feel I am putting on a performance all the time. We'd make great actors!
@charreva Theatre has helped me get out of my shell, that and close knit friends, we may not have many but the few friends we have are very important. We should start a facebook group of social anxiety friends or something
I'm very anxious all the time, but especially in social situations and that's why I mostly avoid them. It has also totally exhausted me making normal life even harder. I'm not giving up though, and I hope yours gets better too.
You're an inspiration. I'm a 17 year old girl, I moved to an all girls school for my A levels by myself. I found it hard leaving my old friends and didn't want to talk to anybody. 6 months on, I don't want to go to school because i'm scared of what people think when I say something. I've always been quite quiet, but nothing like this. It's hell.
Thank you Stephanie, One of the worst things is to be alone and isolate ourselves, that is what the disorder wants us to do but we can't. It's hard to make new friends but sometimes I find I have to force myself to. It's much more easier one on one than in group situations, group situations are the worse for me.
I'm sorry, your going through this Steph, Does your school have counseling someone that you can talk to?
Hi, I think it would just make it worse going to a councellor, just trying to be more sociable the more you think 'i'm shy' the worse I find it gets. People can tell, and my new friend asked why I was so shy. I want to enjoy making friends with new people, not dread it. I can't really connect or keep up a conversation with new people, cause i'm too busy worrying ,like will they think of me as boring because i am so shy and wound up?. Do you feel this way too?? :( Good luck with everything
Well therapy helps because it helps build up social muscles, You do role-playing and practice overcoming the shyness, the social anxiety. Some people can do it alone but I find it very difficult.
I feel exactly the same way but I have found therapy and medication and prayer has helped, I still have a long way to go but I am getting better.
That guy is whipping himself too much. And also he is too much functional at this point if u listen to his testimony. So, if he keeps working and stop beating on himself it be good, if he deteriorates it will affect behaviour and function and then he would see what SAD really could lead to. His testimony though, sounds positive, and he seems to be doing just great considering .... so I think he should just consider forcing himself some more since he is doing great :)
Here's a thought: Life is supposed to be FUN, life is supposed to be EASY, life is supposed to be HAPPY. Seriously. Why would GOD want you to have OCD or Social Anxiety? Who is he anyway to tell you you should have it!? The bible says, you become what you belief. So start believing who you really want to be, see yourself being the perfect you. And trust me, you will become it. Have you ever considered trying EFT? Some people have had great results with it. Just give it a go. Cheers
Carnelian is the stone that sucks up negativity and dissolves it, especially anger and fear. Don't believe me? Hold it in your hand and see. Try Tiger Eye too! Red Jasper for guilt about sex - Amazing! Still don't believe me? Check out "Chemtrails dissolved" on youtube. Orgone pipes use crystals to bust up chemtrails. (no electricity per se) Passive tech but videos show results. Crystals are cool.
Max, whatever it's worth, I really don't think your disease is self-imposed. And it seems you're coping with it well. Try not to judge yourself too much, you're not broken - any more than a left handed person is broken. You don't need to be changed. You just have to learn to approach life differently than extroverts do, that's all. And you are. Deaf people don't consider themselves broken or handicapped, they have their own culture and they just approach life differently than hearing people do.
You think too much..Don't worry about what people say or their thoughts..Just smile alot & keep your faith..Let the chips fall where they may..Your disease is self imposed..God wants you to be happy with yourself...Be confident ..Go with the flow..In the end everything will all work together for the good...Gerard Paul
thank you , I believe that the devil will try to take any virtue and try to turn it into something else. He tries to take my compassion and humility and turn it into fear and self loathing.
The same source that gives me this weekness God turns into a strength God Bless you

You too

That guy is whipping himself too much. And also he is too much functional at this point if u listen to his testimony. So, if he keeps working and stop beating on himself it be good, if he deteriorates it will affect behaviour and function and then he would see what SAD really could lead to. His testimony though, sounds positive, and he seems to be doing just great considering .... so I think he should just consider forcing himself some more since he is doing great :)

Thank you for your kind words. I may be high functional but I do believe there is a disconect between what is in my mind and what I actualy can do.
Thank you MajSolo :)

Thank you Chiyo. I don't think I'm broken. It's just life can ve very dificult but I have faith that it will get better.
I just hope that others out there might watch this video and I hope it will help them as well.
