  • and then a movie was made ...

  • He makes a good point... how'd he get the blade out?

  • I know its a true story, but i remember my me and my dad went to see a movie about something like this a few years ago, and we went with his friend, and his friends son, and his friends son fainted when the guy snapped the bones and the people working at the cinema dragged him out by his feet. Good times. p.s jack dee is a comedy LEGEND!

  • 127 hours <3

  • thats a film

  • @MrSexyboi01 Yeah but it happened in real life aswell...

  • @MrSexyboi01 Based on a true story if you knew your facts.

  • For those that don't know, there is a film about this called 127 hours. It's brilliant.

  • @Samzsite there is also a book called "Between a Rock and a Hard Place" by Aaron Ralston. It's his autobiographical account of what happened. It's probably more detailed than the film because it doesn't have time constraints etc.

  • I understand that people (youtube as well) need a way to make money.... but wtf... I just watched the same commercial for some shitty survivor knock off 17 times over the past 15 minutes.... wtf man...

  • Stupid adverts... >.<

  • Jack Dee knew 127 hours before it went mainstream.

  • @Ghefly he didnt no the film he probably knew the actual event. as funnily enough that happened before they made a film on it :)

  • he didnt actually have a swiss army knife. it was a cheap made in china pair of multitool plyers and a blunt knife.

  • He is talking about Aron Ralston...and yeah there has been a Danny Boyle movie based on Ralston's autobiography, using his video diaries, called "127 hours"

  • so here's where Dan Boyle got the idea from... What's next the B&Q movie?

  • to everyone complaining about ads, download firefox and then an add on called adblock. havent seen an ad since :P not spam just a tip :) its free

  • Comment removed

  • @FukCommando Danny Boyle you tard

  • correction, it's 127 hours:-)

  • 127 days

  • @sala680 Ha-ha-ha.

  • this what hes talking about has been turned into a film

  • if hes cutting off his arm with his other arm (as you would in that situation) surely at the point where your arm falls off your other arm is no longer gripping anything so youd fall t your death?

just realised thered probably be a guide line..

  • He should go buy a pocket watch, instead.

  • I hate these google commercials they are ruining youtube

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW

There making money for youtube. So youtube will still be here for free

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW Because I'm sure you'd pay for YouTube if they took them down.

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW

    i couldnt agree more

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW I agree

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW YouTube was the invention of the decade... until Google bought it. Fucked it all up with their ads.

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW They pay for a lot of things that you otherwise wouldn't get for free. You think it's free to stream videos to people, the bandw. alone....!!

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW I'd rather click one exit button a video than pay for youtube, dunno about you. . . .

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW Wanna pay a subscription fee instead?

  • @lessavit Yes i'd love too

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW Youtube is owned by google, they can do whatever they want lol

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW there not, they are actually keeping it alive.

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW adblock....no ads on youtube, ever

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW

    Get adblock you nonce.

  • @ComradeAlpharius honestly mate, this comment is like 1 year old, this is before adblock and shit were popular, im not having a go at you i just wish i didnt get comments every 5 seconds on this comment lmfao

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW what ads?

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW

Ruining your youtube? Okay, you can pay to watch youtube then, while i watch it for free just watching 30second ads

  • @TheGunDclan honestly dude, wank off, this comment is 1 year old. get over it i dont care anymore

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW Without the commercials, the income wouldn't be there to keep Youtube free yet going, and they would need to make people pay to watch the videos. So technically said adds are keeping you from being ruined really...

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW The irony is that google owns youtube.

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW I know it's like two years late mate but you can now download Adblock, which is epic because youtube still gets financed by the ads, and you dont have to see them

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW i have no sympathy for you people. GET ADBLOCK.

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW AdBlock and the ads are gone...

  • @ItsRobbieHutchFTW they allow youtube to be free

  • nope fortunately not, but it hurt a bit!

  • really? i had the same experience 2 years ago with my thumb in a car door....i had to wait 2 months for my nail to grow back!

  • I read that book lol

  • Jack Dee. Hilarious.

  • his arm was already crushed and since he had been there 3 days at that stage and had no blood flow to his arm it was already dead. he cut through the skin easily enough it was the bones he had trouble with so he eventually decided about a day after cutting through his arm to snap the bones.

  • why. why would you want to know this and tell it to everybody? :P

  • i read his book

  • i shut my finger in the car door the other day, not quite as harrowing in hindsight when compared with this

  • whats the guys name who did it?

  • aron ralston

  • @decofl

    wow....what a beasttt.

  • @decofl Imagine going through all this pain and trouble and then fall to his death.

One-armed people really shouldn't climb rocks!

  • @punkassniggabitchful when did he fall to his death?

  • @decofl or u could just enjoy the jks lol

  • @decofl I wish I had never read your comment. The loud snap of the bone will terrify my sleep. :(

  • @decofl The way you describe it makes it sound easy and painfree. Tell me, have you any experience in cutting a limb off?

  • @decofl Well done....you watched 127 hours

  • @bizzleboi23 considering my comment was left "1 year ago" and 127 hours was released around january 2011 then its unlikely there is a connection between the film and my comment. I actually read the book about 6-7 years ago.

  • @decofl Yeah I noticed that...I just wanted to see what your pedantic response was :P

  • @decofl no, the nerves was the hardest.... he could still feel pain... :)

  • @decofl he actually broke the bones in his arm before he started to cut through the skin.

  • that is an awful suit, but he's really funny though

  • lol I adore the way this guy talks!

  • im pretty sure i heard about this..

apparently to stop the pain of cutting his arm off, he wriggled it about, breaking the bones.

  • whys there an advert on youtube? nd this is from the bbc :(

  • bbc worldwide is allowed to advertise

  • BEST ADVERT EVER AT THE BEGINNING nice comedy aswell

  • if it landed on his hand it wouldnt be uch use anymore anyway

  • how did he get back down with one arm? haha

  • lukazoid, he wasn't that far off the ground, he was kinda in a small crevasse, not made of ice.

  • i agree, bloody hilarious though!

  • why didnt he cut of his hand instead?

  • The guys name is Aron Ralston. Google him.

He sawed half his forearm off... His hand, wrist and half of his forearm became trapped by a boulder.

I'm sure if it was just his hand that was trapped he wouldn't have felt the need to cut so much.

  • cool !!!!

omg im so sry i was ment to give ye a gud comment but i pressed bad by accident haha sorry !!!!!!!!

  • I wonder what i would be like 2 take me watch off like that hmmmm... gross.

  • hahahahahaaAaa!! "i think like this how do you think i feel?" loool

  • the fact that no1 around 2 help him is the story! if sum1 woz around 2 help wiv the boulder than the story wud not b interesting! the guy had 2 cut his arm off to get water and food!

  • He must have needed someone else - if not he would still have both arms.

"Here mate, lift this boulder off my arm please so I don't have to cut it off"

    "Sure thing"

    There.....how easy was that!

  • i love this man so so so funny

  • Was the documentry the one Touching the Void was based around?

  • nah

that dude got his rope cut by his mate - amazing story lol

  • i saw that documentary the bloke was a legend he had to break his arm twice or both ways in order to escape the rock Then he trekked a long way with only one arm.

  • ok but he didnt need anyone else.

  • No, but if he went with someone else, he would have two arms, so evidently, someone else would be useful.
