I have 2 gtx280's with these waterblocks in SLI however I'm getting overheating on my second gpu...Do you think this is because I didn't apply the correct thermal pads? I remember there were two types a grey and white set of pads that came with it and i used the grey ones. Also how would you recommend going about re-applying thermal pads and paste if I already have a watercooling loop in my system.
i have a shuttle SX48P2 deluxe and i put the GTX280 XXX in there, however heat issues have led me to watercooling altho i am a watercool n00b. just wondered if you've had any experience with SFF watercooling.
So what were to temps before and after? Like is it so amazing that it worth me going out and buying a liquid cooling system and water blocks? Because I'm getting a new rig in a few weeks and I'm not sure yet if I want liquid cooling or not.
thanks for the guide, was planning on building a new system with 2x GTX260s (might get the 280's if the price goes down) and an i7 920. You made this look to easy and its a really good referrence on how you should take care or the card and equipment.
ADVICE: After removing the first 10 screws on the bottom side of the board and the 2 on the top of the card gently pull on the block shaped petrusion towards the end of the blower its MUCH easier to remove and your not damaging anything. ALSO to remove the last 2 screws I recomend getting a small pair of heavy duty pliers and apply pressure sideways and turn them with that instead of stripping out the screws trying to apply pressure from the top with a screwdriver.
How much does the Koolance VID 428 water block weigh in comparison to the standard air cooler? Oh and what liquid coolant do you recommend using for optimal cooling? Thanks.
Stay away from koolance and go with EK and Swiftech.
EK Waterblocks
Swiftech Laing D5 Pump
Swiftech Triple Radiator
6x Yate Loon Silent Fans
Feser UV Coolant.
Bitspower Compressive Fittings 1/2
15x Tygon Tubing 5/8"
Cheaper than a koolance setup plus it will perform better and never get corrosion, because koolance uses aluminum in thier radiators. Even with anti corrsoives, its still going to get corroded. Just look at the Swiftech Apogee GTX.
Check out his last video 'Koolance VID-428 Video Review'. He compared temperatures of air cooled stock, to the koolance water cooled temperatures while the GPU was under load.
Trubritar, still giving us the best install guides on youtube!!!!!!!!!! Attention to detail and every step is really nice. Its good to see you do all the steps and not skip anything like most install guides do. All aspects for installs are important and you dont miss a beat. Thanks!!
the goddamn fan connector wont come out, HOW DO YOU DO IT??!?

Hi, i got a question, if i buy this waterblock for my 280 what else do i need to get?
i have thermaltake big water on another pc for cpu cooling if i used it on my 280 koolance water block would the tubes fit?
ozpc123 8 months ago
@ozpc123 The tubes will fit with the correct nozzles, however the cooling capacity may not meet the needs if you expand on the system...

ok watched you 0wn your 280 GTXs and get one replaced, good man!! :)
Was wondering though i got my stock ASUS 8800 GTS 320 upto 100+ the other day I only checked when i started noticing artifacts.... :/
Now I can clean dust out of my gpu/cpu/psu fans and still is burning hot.
I'm thinking of buying a CM Stacker but should i go w/c and w/c 280?
or stick with my 8800 GTS, get a second, w/c both, any suggestions?
Especially seeing as the GTX 280 looks lightening.
Top Vids btw.

My Radeon 4870 runs a little to hot for comfort, but my entire PC is air cooled in an Antec 1200. Would a water cooling system be worth it?

Stay away from koolance and go with EK and Swiftech.

when you use a waterchiller which keeps your water temp at 1-5Celcius then you would get amazingly low temps and good overclocking results.
