  • the goddamn fan connector wont come out, HOW DO YOU DO IT??!?

  • Hi, i got a question, if i buy this waterblock for my 280 what else do i need to get?

i have thermaltake big water on another pc for cpu cooling if i used it on my 280 koolance water block would the tubes fit?

  • @ozpc123 The tubes will fit with the correct nozzles, however the cooling capacity may not meet the needs if you expand on the system...

  • excellent guide... this is why the internet is brilliant!

  • How much cooler those the card get?? i got a XFX GTX 280 limited edition card, is the KL compatible?

  • can I use that fan that u took off on other card ?

  • Excellent guide Mr Trubritar, many thanks.

  • @StevieVaibanez, what a faggot

  • Skrews

  • Do you have an istall video for the GTX 480 Koolance water block? If you could create one, I'd greatly appreciate it :)

  • @Schnikerdoodle

it is really hard to get a 480

  • @thasyamaha

Yeah, um thanks for telling me. Trubritar already has four of these beasts.

  • Trubitar,

I have 2 gtx280's with these waterblocks in SLI however I'm getting overheating on my second gpu...Do you think this is because I didn't apply the correct thermal pads? I remember there were two types a grey and white set of pads that came with it and i used the grey ones. Also how would you recommend going about re-applying thermal pads and paste if I already have a watercooling loop in my system.

    -Thanks

  • Does it matter if I use a different thermal paste?

    Brian :)

  • Thank you for the info .

  • Can i use the same water block with a XFX gtx 280 .

  • Yes you may

  • screwholes

  • IS that gonna fit in mid-tower?

  • is there a gtx 285 waterblock or can you use this one for this too

  • Do you have to replace the water block Frequently? Or is there something that needs to be replaced inside the water block occasionally?

Sorry im new to the water cooling thing ;p

  • awesome guide mate :)

i have a shuttle SX48P2 deluxe and i put the GTX280 XXX in there, however heat issues have led me to watercooling altho i am a watercool n00b. just wondered if you've had any experience with SFF watercooling.

    thankyou...

    NathaN

  • Absolutely humongous.

  • ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL

  • is there a 260 gtx core 216 55nm water block?

  • is there a 260 gtx core 216 55nm water block?

  • no men

  • So what were to temps before and after? Like is it so amazing that it worth me going out and buying a liquid cooling system and water blocks? Because I'm getting a new rig in a few weeks and I'm not sure yet if I want liquid cooling or not.

  • its worth it he did a before and after test on the gtx295 40c diference.

  • trubritar, where did u get this cooler?

  • is there water blocks for the gtx 295 yet

  • It's called VID-NX295. Go to koolance,com

  • Yes, see my most recent review...Thanks

  • Or the DD GTX 295 waterblock.

  • What a pain in the ass

  • yes, he has many..

  • lol

  • thanks for the guide, was planning on building a new system with 2x GTX260s (might get the 280's if the price goes down) and an i7 920. You made this look to easy and its a really good referrence on how you should take care or the card and equipment.

  • where can I buy the water block at

  • Awesome with big, aged 65nm GPU? lolz.

  • Hi will this work on a asus 280gtx

  • Yes, It's the same process...

    Trubritar

  • thanks the video really helped me with installation and man the fan plug was so hard to get off :s

  • Glad the guide helped you :)

    Trub

  • Would like to say, thanks, this vid made it a 1,2,3 process installing the water block. Keep up the awesome work.

  • Great looking blocks love the fact you can see the liquid within the writing but the Ganger Dens are better in performance but there ugly lol.

  • he uses a vapochill to cool the cpu.

but aye, atleast one of those cards is getting quite hot like that.

  • Nicely done video.

  • ADVICE: After removing the first 10 screws on the bottom side of the board and the 2 on the top of the card gently pull on the block shaped petrusion towards the end of the blower its MUCH easier to remove and your not damaging anything. ALSO to remove the last 2 screws I recomend getting a small pair of heavy duty pliers and apply pressure sideways and turn them with that instead of stripping out the screws trying to apply pressure from the top with a screwdriver.

  • Have you tried using ArtiClean to prep the thermal parts, Trubritar?

If so, can you message me with how it worked for you?

    Thanks in Advance.

  • Hey quick question... Will this work on the XFX 280 GTX as well?

  • Yes, exactly the same process...

    Trubritar

  • Very kewl!! :D

  • ok watched you 0wn your 280 GTXs and get one replaced, good man!! :)

Was wondering though i got my stock ASUS 8800 GTS 320 upto 100+ the other day I only checked when i started noticing artifacts.... :/

Now I can clean dust out of my gpu/cpu/psu fans and still is burning hot.

I'm thinking of buying a CM Stacker but should i go w/c and w/c 280?

or stick with my 8800 GTS, get a second, w/c both, any suggestions?

Especially seeing as the GTX 280 looks lightening.

    Top Vids btw.

  • hey man, what's the res on ur camera?? the video looks kinda compressed... might be me, but still....

  • trubritar and maxishine should compete head-to-head lol

  • How much does the Koolance VID 428 water block weigh in comparison to the standard air cooler? Oh and what liquid coolant do you recommend using for optimal cooling? Thanks.

  • nice like always!

  • great video

  • trubitar how's the temps on those things?

  • Nive video :)

  • think hes from south wales? anyway, greta video

  • your neerly there..... hahah nice

  • I feel so relaxed when I hear this guys english voice its so relaxing to hear! :P

  • Same here he talks so relaxed and cool.

  • Very Cool ;)

  • I didn't realize how big that card was.

  • nice vid

  • Love it thanks man.

  • one of these days i will do this

  • die is fucking huge,,,

  • great vid trib, as allways, keep it up :).

  • nice

    looks like a great product

  • awesome vid

  • awesome guide man, keep it up!

  • My Radeon 4870 runs a little to hot for comfort, but my entire PC is air cooled in an Antec 1200. Would a water cooling system be worth it?

  • Yes its completely worth it.

Stay away from koolance and go with EK and Swiftech.

    EK Waterblocks

    Swiftech Laing D5 Pump

    Swiftech Triple Radiator

    6x Yate Loon Silent Fans

    Feser UV Coolant.

    Bitspower Compressive Fittings 1/2

    15x Tygon Tubing 5/8"

Cheaper than a koolance setup plus it will perform better and never get corrosion, because koolance uses aluminum in thier radiators. Even with anti corrsoives, its still going to get corroded. Just look at the Swiftech Apogee GTX.

  • well priced too. Thanks

  • when you use a waterchiller which keeps your water temp at 1-5Celcius then you would get amazingly low temps and good overclocking results.

  • nice video! EVGA GTX280 cards are better with building a waterblock on it...by the XFX cards (like mine) you have to remove the sticker thinky

  • now he must make a video of crysis ;)

  • Run some temperature benchmarks on those cards

  • Check out his last video 'Koolance VID-428 Video Review'. He compared temperatures of air cooled stock, to the koolance water cooled temperatures while the GPU was under load.

  • thx

  • good stuff brother

  • Very detailed instruction!

  • where do you get the alcohol swabs?

  • You can pick up the alochol swabs from your local chemist or pharmacy...

  • Or bottle shop! lol.

    Did you get a haircut?

  • haha you said swabs

  • will never do this because i dont have the money but still very interesting and theres nothing wrong with learning new things. thank you Trubritar

  • c'mon hurry up and overclock that bitch till you FRY IT!!!

  • danggggg that GPU is BIG

  • thats what she said O_o

  • GREAT VIDEO M8!!!!

  • Gosh, that looks hard i would never do that lol. Good vid as always,

  • Great tutorial!!

  • Trubritar, still giving us the best install guides on youtube!!!!!!!!!! Attention to detail and every step is really nice. Its good to see you do all the steps and not skip anything like most install guides do. All aspects for installs are important and you dont miss a beat. Thanks!!

  • Are you sponsored by koolance? Ive seen your vids on the site and it seems you only stick to koolance products.

Any sort of sponsorships or is this all out of your own pocket?

  • its all out of his pocket, tbh I would of rather gotten the EK ones.

  • he has reviews of different coolers other than koolance ;)

personally I have tested different liquid cooling systems and I'm doing pretty well with koolance too

  • just cpu blocks though, and the koolance wasn't the best. I still love my EK Supreme, and it doesn't look fugly like the D-Tek ;).

I bet you that the EK performs better :p

  • that is extremely sexy cant wait to see the benches

  • cool

  • WOOO! AWSOME VIDEO TRUBRITAR!!!

  • good guide

  • Koolance VID 428 Install Guide, ....Enjoy!
