I love Z's I'm turning 16 in 6 months and I want a 300zx t tops 5spd with twin turbo preferably black or red. Hope I get a 93, I plan to go to UTI for college and get a job at a shop near iowa where I live, I hate snow tho!! Great video!!! Nice black Z!!
My timing belt broke and bent all my intake valves. but before that i never tested the compression so i got new valves and cleaned everything real good so hopefully when i get it all back together i can at least bust the tires, and its an auto non turbo so i will have to put some performance on it before its really puttin out anything.
throttle open, throttle closed, plugs in, plugs out it DOES NOT MATTER which method you use as long as all the cylinders are tested the SAME WAY.
personally I prefer having all the plugs out just to perform the test quicker, always MORE THAN ONCE and always followed up by a WET test, a dry-test alone is not enough. ideally a cylinder leak down test would be much more accurate and offer more information about the cylinder condition.
I was wondering where you guys are located. Seems like you are very knowledgeable, I would love to come down and help with whatever I can :)I need to change my timing belt.
We build only Z32 300zx motors weather TT or NA. We do swaps from NA to TT for very good prices. This is why people come to us all the way from California and what not.
Great work, a reason for not converting to TT? That hole is the old blocks cylinder wall is BAD lol! I just dropped in my second engine and ive only owned the car for a yr and a half :/ still love the car though.
It will eventually be converted to TT. The motor sitting behine the red car in the video is the TT engine. Has to get machined, rebuilt and upgraded to 700+ HP. This motor is a temp motor just so that the car is drivable
Hey man i just bought a 300zx and it sounds like its burning a lil rich. i just wanted to know what would be the first thing that i have to do in order to check it? thx
Will a 1993 j30 motor swap out to a 1993 300zx 2+2

Thanks so much for the video! Seem's a little tricky to do a compression test by yourself, but at least I got an idea of what it is I need to do!

you should have took out all the plugs, this way you have less load and the engine can run faster.

I had no idea how small the blocks in these cars were. With everything connected they are massive!
