Remember that the Holocaust was kept hidden from the German people, and what went on in the camps was shown to Germans to "denazify" them after the war. Yes, it's actually a drinking song from the later half of the 19th century. It actually tells the story of a Landstreicher, a hobo, and it was a soldier's song under the Kaiser, and has nothing to do specifically with Nazism.
