Reminds one of a time when Britain was not only Great enough to invent instant mash, but to creat an advert worthy of this exquisite achievement. The Bachesque jingle, the ironic comedy brilliance of the script, and animation to rival Walt Disney. Just magnificent. Makes one proud to be English.

And did those feet in ancient times walk upon England's mountains green.

When I was 7 or 8 I thought the Smash adverts were absolutely the coolest things on the telly. So much so that I badgered and nagged my mother into replacing real spuds on the dinner table with a plate of Smash one evening. Sweet Jesus of Nazareth.....the stuff was VILE. But I loved the robots so much, I wanted to like it. So did a lot of kids....now there is one brilliant advert campaign

This a great Ad, and, as you know, was first shown back in the Seventies, so it was great to see that in 1999, it was voted the best commercial of all time... and rightly so.
