And remember pink and black was the popular color combo for clothes and decor in the 80's. David's in black suit. It was a funny weird interview, esp when those robots came out and one of them touched David's hair and he wasn't pleased.

Actually, in 1985 David's favorite color was Pink. He told us this in our meeting with him in hotel lounge in Birmingham UK '85. He had a pink shiny suit that he wore then and also a pink silk shirt he wore in the '85 concerts. He wore the pink suit jacket for the encores in his 1991 US concert tour.

Thanks for the info. These are the little details that make the DC fans still buzzing around. And I bet the producer knew this and that explains the balloons. I remember DC wore a pink silk suit for the "The higher they climb" album cover shoot.

So I wasn't the only one watching TV that afternoon in 1985. I love the balloons. It's the shades that was blocking David.

I remember this clearly being on our TV in 1985. It's not until the end of the clip that you can tell just how high up David was in the crane!! I presume the idea of the balloons was to cover the name of the crane company, however, PINK!!!! Lol

After this song, David gave an interview to a Scottish woman, (can't remember her name), and they were both having hysterics about the wind and the ridiculous idea of getting David in a crane up amongst the trees!!!!!! So funny.

You are correct. Your memory did not fail you. The interview however was at the beginning of the show. David sang this song thru' the end of the show. I shall put up the interview bit on a separate video. It will all come back to you when you see it again here.
