I thought the comments were quite rude, but let's be serious. This guy sucks at the game. I was almost yelling at my screen, "DON't MOVE FORWARD!!!!" And he moves right into the fire (multiple times), hhahaha. But thanks for showing me the ending, i never beat the game as a child.
Just awesome. It's Reeeeaaallllyyyy FUNNNYYYYY!!!!! Actually I tend to dislike a play game with commentary, but LOL yours is reaaalllllyyy funny.... =))
My brother was OBSESSED with this game when we were kids. He played through the whole game a zillion times, and he always had to get help from the old NES hotline -- remember that? I still don't know how he beat it. This game's impossible. I remember he really liked one of the levels -- level 46? 47? Because of it was so ingeniously hard. This game's hard, but the level design is masterful.
You suck. You suck. Oh yeah, and you ABSOLUTELY SUCK!!!! Couldn't beat it as a child, and you obviously suck just as much as an adult. If you can't beat it the right way, don't play the game. Your walkthrough sucks. Your gameplay sucks. Yelling at the game like a 5 year old, unlimited retries, if that's the only way you can beat a game, then go beat yourself.
@ZetaPlays zetta i watch A LOT a response of yours to this kind of coments but this one is one of the best i migth even use this coment and the response in one video do you mind?
I could never beat this game as a kid, so I played it on the emulator (using the save/restore feature, because I'm playing to relive my past rather than play the game over again). Had to watch this video to learn how to beat the final room. Would never have dawned on me that you had to click the mirror if it weren't for this video. Thanks! Now I can have closure with how this game ended (along with Athena, another tough NES game).
I have played this game hundreds of times and have NEVER gotten past level 20 or so. It's good to see the ending, even though it kind of sucks :) At least I know what I am missing. Thanks for posting.
Just so you know; you didn't actually beat it. You have to get every Solomon's Seal to actually beat the game. They're hidden throughout the levels. Also the reason you were able to take out that last slate grey block was because clicking on the mirror gives your wand the power to do it. (that's what Tecmo told my parents, anyway)
I just played through this game, and it is absolutely impossible to beat unless you cheat. It's soooooooooooo easy to slip and die. Still, if this game had had a save feature, it would have been much more popular.
Oh, gawd! I don't know which is worse. The famously cheap NES ending or having to be a pixel master. (Another NES Ha(e)ll of Fame thing.) I am now SO thankful on ALWAYS having passed on this game as a kid. Yet, oddly inspired to try it via Dreamcast emulation. (Gawd bless the State Save.)
@ugleland I bet you never even played this game junior, so i'd shut the fuck up. This is when games took actual skill, not fucking CoD where a bunch of wiggers and yo boys camp kill each other.
Did anyone ever beat this POS without an emulator? This is without a doubt one of the most pointlessly difficult games ever. Deadly Towers is easy compared to this game.
It was great watching you play this last level. So frustrating, but well done! When I was a kid my brothers and I were obsessed with this game, and we didn't have the benefit of Game Genie or anything. We'd get to this last level over and over but were always stumped. That last block became breakable once you hit the shield with your wand. We were never actually able to figure that out, but a few years ago one of my brothers told me he finally did it using an online FAQ. Thanks for these vids!
All you have to do now is go through all 50 regular rooms, collect all eight Solomon's Seals and visit the 2 secret Lost Page rooms and the Princess Room! :)
dude your skills/timing at this game are painful to watch! Cool vid series though - i've gotten to room 43 so far and am trying to beat it w/o an emulator, so this was a good preview of things to come.
Man in a good speed run you never show us that you're using save states! Its like going to a show and seeing them use the props. We know you're using them but come on, you're not supposed to show us.
Lets see you go thru this nearly impossible accursed game. I personally don't care he was doing this the way he did, for what I saw were rooms that require MANY MANY MANY tries to master WITHOUT an emulator.
Now I know what to expect, likely a prescription to some sort of anti psychotic meds after going thru this damned game!
There's a continue option - at the game over screen press up+a+b at the same time and you can continue at the last stage you died on. This only works up until level 41 though, so you have to be damn good by that time in the game.
Your rank is...A

You never beat space invaders so you're BANNED FROM ALL ARCADE GAMES! Beating games with skill is the only reason to play them ever!

This with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, was some of the hardest games for the Nes that i played.
I never managed to finish the game as a kid.
Would be fun to give it a try now tho.

I'm surprised most people don't know that you can "Continue" in this game so it's not as hard as most people think.
Anyway thanks for the video, I never got to see the final part.

Fantastic job. This game was made by sadists. I haven't played it in 13 years, and never got past about level 20. Maybe I'll try again... nah.

@stt5v2002 "This game was made by sadists."
I know I'm replying to a 2 year old post, but the difficulty of this game coincides with Tecmo's slogan back in the late 80s: "Hard to beat."
