    B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!

  • Where can I find the version where she hits the super high note at the end? I think she's recorded this a number of times.

  • The words to this song are just great.

  • !!!(",)!!!

  • @jeffatarch1 dont hate

  • @jeffatarch1 If you live in Afghanistan, Iraq,Lebanon or Syria you would understand the meaning of this song. If only war would not tear the lives of children and people around the world. Lives are torn apart by divorce, abandonment etc...

My grown up list is the same..no more lives torn apart, that wars would never start...

  • @jeffatarch1 it really is a beautiful song and a great message. When you've "grown up", you'd realize it

  • @jeffatarch1 then be gone

  • @jeffatarch1 That only happens to me when I hear lady gag or justin bieber -_-

  • I knew if anyone could make me cry with this song, it would be the one and only Natalie Cole. Talk about pulling at your heartstrings! Whew!

  • We're singing this song in chorus at my school!:)

  • michael masser used to say dont give natalie cole too much time to process a note, she will over sing it; that is what happened here. Her classic version is from the David Foster Album in 1993 (not the original duet in 1991) but when she recorded it alone. That is the version that should be up here.

  • My grown up Christmas wish...no more lives torn apart...wars would never start...time would heal all wounds...every man would have a friend...right would always win ..,and love would never end...

  • @Elenitsa3 its no more lives torn apart

  • @TarmakWorm Thank you for the correction, but we could always add some extra wishes to the list ...no more lies toward the heart ...that would make it interesting too. Not a bad wish :)

  • Mercy i just imagined M.J singing this and I got goosebumps! can anoy one imagine?

  • @KIMM777 Whenever I hear this song that is exactly who I think of, it seems so perfect almost as if it where written for him.

  • My daughter asked me tonight what I wanted for Christmas and i had no words. But after hearing this again..I know now...Catie, this is what I want honey :)

  • I have heard many versions that were good, such as the one by Amy Grant. But I love this version somehow so much. This song has a powerful message. Natalie Cole is so elegant, classy, sophisticatged, talented and beautiful and can sing any genre of music. Bless her and David Foster.

  • Amy Grant's is better.. she was the one who wrote it xD

  • @dreamera1

David Foster composed the music, Linda Thompson-Jenner wrote the lyrics. Cheers, mate :)

  • @dreamera1 David Foster wrote the song for him and Natialie Cole.. to sing. Amy Grant covered it after... and also added (a never again sung verse) to the song itself. David's wife did the lyrics and he did the music:-)

  • *Natalie Cole

  • Boy! you sure picked your father' Dna i remember Hancock park do you? love you r.e.cummings jr.( the who am i project.com) circa, 2010

  • All versions are for me the same,I can't decide. But I have to say that this song is sad and somber,as are many Christmas songs if one were to pay attention.I want the message being conveyed in this song,to come true. Our world truly needs it.

    Merry Christmas 2010!

  • listen to the lyrics, just as good as every singer who sings it... don't compare

  • I love Charice's version of this song too. I would say , both of them have the best interpretation of this beautiful Christmas song. Amy Grant is a good singer but not among the best.

  • @cebuanoni - they never ask you to compare Why you people like to push Charice up by putting other music legends down. Amy Grant sold platinum records and had several Grammy Awards both Chrstian, Pop and you're telling she's not the best...

  • @burriesricky

You said ONE of the greatest, not THE greatest. Can't you make it in your heart to allow Charice to share that title? You're listening to this song with a very meaningful lyrics yet you can't accept that Charice is IN THEIR LEAGUE... a league composed of Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Barbra, Natalie, Chaka, Aretha, to name a few? She may be 18 y.o. But she's DEFINITELY there.

    Merry Xmas to you, dear.

  • @christophercsilva: Uh...no she's not. Charice is only 18 and does not belong in the same category as Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin. These legendary divas are in a league all their own. Charice is really good, but, she does not belong in the same as these remarkable unique singers.

  • christophercsilva - Who are you to tell the world that your Charice is as good as these great talents, does she has more #1 pop singles than Mariah Carey, does she has more sold-out solo concerts than Celine, does she has more Grammys than Whitney? Messages here are how people enjoy this music and Ms Natalie Cole, and is not all about your Charice bragging, arguing, debating, it only cheapens you and your girl.

  • @markosundin And who are you to comment on MY OPINION? I did not say it is the gospel truth. It is my opinion and I am entitled to it? Can you please try to read my mesage first before commenting. It makes you look bad yourself.

My first post was posted in a positive note. I am not trying to stir emotions here. So please back off!!!

  • @christophercsilva : Who are you in this world to tell anyone who doesn't like your opinion to back-off? You are really so cheap, my fault I shouldn't have stooped down to your level. Again, this site is all about this Christmas song and not all about your negative remarks here.. so get lost from this site. Let the people enjoy this music and you can brag as you want on other Charice sites, not here please. It's not even her video for God's sake.

  • @christophercsilva: No one is telling you what to say. As I mentioned, Charice is a good singer, but , she is nowhere near Whitney, Barbra, Aretha, Chaka, Mariah, these women have 25 to 30 years of hit songs, awards, accolades, fans, etc. You can be a loyal fan, but don't be delusional. It is not possible for Charice to be on their level. Does she even have one hit record? Has she released any "original music". Like your devotion - but really - no comparison.

  • One of the greatest voices of all time. Sorry Charice but Natalie is untouchable for me.

  • The person who dislike this song didn't have a good Christmas obviously -.-

  • I like the Christian version better... A Prayer For Every Year

  • this is the most touching christmas song! i cant stand it , ti is amazaing

  • Only song little did right, she shoulda stuck more to bittersweet songs that mix your emotions to hide her lack of talent. aw damn look at me, forgive the trolling.

  • @JarradDrand i've listened to her christmas songs since i was a kid, shes a classic in my life.

  • love this song

  • this song gives me goosebumps

  • Beautiful ☆☆☆☆☆

  • So many covers for this song-----this is one of my favorites-----Natalie Cole with the London Symphony!

  • i've never been a fan of christmas music, after working for 20 years in the retail biz...but when this tune would come on, you couldn't help listen to it, and think about the lyrics. i have come to really enjoy hearing it...

  • @reignman2112 ugh, they never stop shoving jingle bells down your throat in stores from Halloween on.

  • From the best come the best... my most favourite song of all time...

  • I luv this song, I first heard it on her show she had back in the 90's called " Big Break" - a knockoff of Star Search, she sang this during Xmas time on her show, it brought a tear to my eyes cause it was kinda sad and reminded me of those less fortunate than myself. A great song. Thanks for posting.

  • i cant find mary did you kow either that is my favorite song by her

  • I love her version of this song and Mary, Did You Know. Could you post that one b/c I can find it nowhere on here by her. No one does the song justice like she does. Please and Thank you:)

  • Absolutely the best !

    Thank You :)

  • THANKS LEONE804!!!!!!

  • leone804, thanks for puting this up but its kind of hard to find, can you repost simply by the title, its currently under Natalie Cole and does not come up in the searh engine by the title. The other version has over 163, 000 views but this is the far superior version but no one will be able to find it.
