  • not a rat it's a mouse

  • I feel that Turtles are pretty amazing animals and I happen to be the owner of a yellow belly! Nice Video!

  • Omg!!! I can't watch this!!

  • did the turtels get sick from the rats

  • @styles776 No.

  • thank u for using a dead rat, u have no idea how many sickos will give their snakes lizards turtles and even dogs live rats to torture and eat. I keep rats as pets and what alot of people don't realize is that their the most affectionate and intelligent of all the rodents. thank u.

  • @skyangel11871 Thanks for the nice comment. All I seem to get is 'Why don't you use a live one?' The answer is always the same, it's cruel, not essential and illegal. I too used to have them as pets. Reptiles are more than happy to eat dead rodents.

  • @JAMESNADIA maybe just feed the turtle rodents when they die you said you feed them at random times

  • @JAMESNADIA many tend to only eat live prey though. circle of life. who is judge nature anyway

  • @skyangel11871 We dont give a fuck. Some people are vegetarian and you eat hamburgers and chickens. Some people keep cows and chickens as pets.

  • Fatality

  • how big is the tank?

    nice turtle btw

  • Its like a TMNT snuff film. Poor splinter

  • Omg Master Splinter has been MAULED!!!!!

  • kurwa jaki syf... wode im wymień sadysto jebany... nawet żywym im sie nie da pobawić... kurwiszon

  • vote turtles for king of the world!! those animals are beautiful xD

  • nice mine only a year old :( so it eats blood worm :)

  • Thanks for giving them a dead rat. They're very cruel on killing it.

  • i never knew turtles could eat rats

  • yes, at least you fed it to them prekilled. =/

I don't have the heart to feed Mikey a mouse or rat, I've had them as pets and I'd probebly just cry while he ate it. HA!

  • Just wanted to say thanks for usen a already dead mouse...

  • Aww poor rat

  • you could of cut a rat into small pieces enough for these turtles to enjoy on.

  • I could, but that wouldn't happen in the wild for them. They were fine with it.

  • cool tank. check out my videos.

  • nooo why are they eating splinter? QQ

  • Damn.. Turtles are bad ass.

  • eww tht shit looks dirty like you just found it from under the frig. lmfao!

  • wow never new they eat mice O.O i just feed Ninja (red ear slider) some small fish once in a long while for a treat

  • awsome vid hun ;) props for the prekilled prey item to ;) my turtles love a good mouse or rat on ocassion to espiclay my snappers or my afrcian sideneck.

  • Pizzas are expensive though! See what I did there? Old school TNMT!!

Mice and rats are fine, not all the time though, just a random treat. In the wild they will eat whatever they can find.

    It's all good.

  • @JAMESNADIA wouldnt the turtles get sick though?

  • @JAMESNADIA its TMNT not TNMT

  • @JAMESNADIA damn straight! we never learned the meaning of the word "defeat"!

  • stupid people with stupid vids

  • I am quite stupid. I once ate dog poo when I was about 4. Tasted like shit you know? The things us simpletons do eh?

  • Id give it 5 stars if the rat was alive...as it is now i give it two.

  • Poor little rat

  • that tank is a swamp.

  • ok at least its dead its sick that another person put up a video of a live one about that size and video taped it climbing on the turtles backs so he can survive hes swimming lik crazy to get away from 6 turtles in a little bowl

    its a dam shame

  • you're just a pussy., so shut the fuck up bitch.

  • wat kind of turtle is it?

  • a red eared slider and a yellow bellied slider

  • TMNT turned on master splinter lol

  • Well, thank for saying take care after you've called me an unnatural, abusive and selfish keeper. I've found in my experience that the ignorant ones are the first to say what you're doing is wrong. Just so you know, in that particular tank none of the turtles are anywhere near full grown and it has multiple basking spots that can't be see in the video. When my turtles get bigger they are moved into a 1500 litre tank. Before you slag someone off on the internet, maybe take to time to think.

  • i dont believe that youre a selfish abusive keeper. its just a dead rat rite? they need protein

  • Too many in one tank. 100 gallon's good for one full grown, 2 max if needed. I see you love your turtles but there's way to many in one tank which you might not be able to tell but stresses them out. They need space and their natural enviroment gives them that until comes basking time then they will pile for the same spot. I'd suggest you adopt out, or offer to sactuaries if you really love them and care to see them happy. This is far from natural and is abusive and a little selfish. Take care.

  • LOL!!! 1:21 HILARIOUS!!!

  • LOL

  • lol i did that with some baby ducks and worms the duck bills just went like bzzzzzzt(shaking extremely fast) and it just seemed like the worms were melting into the duck's mouths

    *notice the tongs:P*

  • awesome rats are icky so your awesome!!

  • poor rat

  • Master Splinter! Noooooo! Nooooo--erhm.. yum... crunch... lick... chomp... yum, you sure taste good, Master Splinter. Screw pizza! Rat all the way! Cowabunga!

  • very nice tank!

  • bet you cleaned the tank after that lol

  • My originals are nearly 5 years old and they have a 8-9" carapace. They are Red Belly Sliders.

I take in a lot of rescues. Some are much larger but I have no idea how old the are.

I have a friend that has the biggest Yellow Belly I've ever seen. It's bigger than his head! It's carapace must be over 12"!

  • cool, i got a baby slider and a 6 inch one, how old and big are yours?

  • nice

  • I've removed all the childish banter between children on here. Positive or negative. Stay on topic.

  • well done, you have successfully turned turtles into carnivores, good job.

    ...idiot

  • I can only assume that you know nothing about turtles as there are only a few species that are not carnivores. The majority of turtle species eat approx. 90% meat and 10% plant matter. They eat whatever they can find. Be it fish, small mammals or inverts.

Before you accuse someone of being an idiot, do a bit of research and don't feed your ignorance.

  • Dude that's fucking sick.

Turtles aren't sposed to eat rats.

    ._. Hair can cause impaction.

  • After a few feeding of smaller insects yes they can.

  • what's the point of feeding them rats if they can eat other food? Like pellets, crickets, shrimp, ect.

  • I offer them a variety of food. They wouldn't just eat the one thing in the wild. I'll only offer them a mouse or a small every now and then.

  • correct, but consider the other options~

I purchase a pack of mixed seafood for my turtles and they love it =]

it gives their diet such a variety

  • Well, they will eat practically anything. But be careful with seafood though if you feed it to them all the time. There is too much salt for turtles in seafood. Unless you have a sea turtle they wouldn't really come across what you might get in a bag of mixed seafood in the wild. They would still need a variety of food if you only feed them seafood. Like I said, it's too much salt for them.

  • yea i know

they only get it on very rare occasions

    once every few weeks

    but i also just noticed....

doesn't feeding them a rat dirty up their tank at all?

  • Not really. I only rarely do it and when I do they eat every bit. Plus I've have very large filters on my tanks.

  • Are you suposed to feed turtles rats?!? I have had turtles for many years, but never really heard of that...

  • 1:15 LMAo

  • do yours ever fight? you have quite a few in a relatively small area and they seem to be getting along. i only had 2 about the same size as these in I thought a big enough tank..they were together a long time then they started fighting and shit so i had to let one go.

  • No mine all get along fine. With some species the females will attack the males but not all the time.

  • who the hell feeds a turtle a damn dead rat which has like diseases and shit lol

  • Hmmmmmm........ Oh dear.

The rats fed to reptiles in the UK are sold specifically for reptiles, are frozen and are disease free. And before you ask, yes they are defrosted.

  • wow! I had no idea turtles can eat rats! Great video!

  • thats one chewy rat

  • wow que feroces, nome quisiera topar con alguna en la calle jajajja

  • nvm

  • wat kind of turtles are these???

  • I usually do but I think giving them a bit of resistance to fight against for a bit makes the whole thing a bit more natural. It's the same with my snakes. They're happier to feed if you don't release the prey straight away because to them it seems like it's alive.

Plus because I was filming it, if i hadn't held on to it they would of taken it down and eaten it out of sight. Then the video would have been a bit boring. If you see what i mean.

  • Why don't you just drop it in?

  • was that rat alive

  • No, it's illegal to feed live mammals to reptiles in this country unless you have permission from a vet. This would only be given if your turtle, snake etc would not eat in any other way. All mice, rats etc are bought dead and frozen. Obviously defrosted before feeding.

  • wtf the ninja turtles are eating splinter!!!

  • lol

  • yea show tht rat whos boss

  • Oh. I'll settle wif jak and jill, though im not sure of the genders... They don't seem to be eating when I fed them pellets the last 1 day, but when I changed to lettuce today i think they ate some, coz i disapeared slowly.

  • I just bought 2 little ones at a pet store yesterday X3

Still thinking of names. Lol. Any suggestions?

  • I've got about the 50-60 mark with animals and I ran out of names a long time ago I'm afraid. Good luck though.

  • Ina word, yes. Their mouths aren't big enough to bite it off but they will tear at the flesh. They will eat anything that moves basically.

  • Yikes!

  • Will they eat your finger alive if you put it in?

  • Your looking at about 20-30 years on average. But many live up to and past their 40's. You're also looking at about 12" in shell length which doesn't sound much until you see one and it's bigger than your head. If you have the time and the dedication though they will bring you a lot of joy.

  • How long have you had yours? Okay.. If they do live with me for another 30yr i'd be old... Let's see... I wud be bout 40+

I'm thinking of a red ear slider coz they're common and cheap here. around 3-5 SGD which is like 2.20-3.67 USD?

  • this is fricking gross. but it is cool anyway (=

  • Gross, i can see the intestines being pulled out... Wasn't there a bloody mess? Am thinking of getting a couple of terrapins. Advice?

  • Just really do your research on species that you're interested in. Some species stay quit small but most get pretty big. Just make sure you have the space for them and be prepared to have them for 30-40years. They're great though.

  • I love your Turtles!!!!

    I'm having a crush on them!!LOL

    Where can you buy them?

  • From most reptile shops. But make sure you really look into what species you want first. Most get quite big. They live for a very long time and are quit aggressive. like I say, do some research first as some shops don't give out the correct information.

  • How do you get your turtles to be so aggresive mine is in a community fish tank with goldfish, guppies, mollys, etc. Are they snappers?

  • No they're all red bellies, yellow bellies & red ear sliders. It's naturally just how they are. I keep fish with some but one red ear just hunts down anything that's not a turtle and eats it. I have more turtles that aren't in this clip and apart from 1, they are all aggressive feeders. The 1 that's not is an Amazon River Turtle and it is a veggy. If I just feed them pellets they are fairly tame. If it's a larger item they generally all try to eat the same one.

  • Your turtles are probably just used to the fish in there as part of their environment. If you were to move them all into a different tank, or just change theirs around, they would think they were different fish and would probably eat them.

  • wow you want your turtles to die

  • Err, how about NO!

What a stupid fuckin' question. Cock!

  • turtles are cool!

  • lmfao..awsome

  • if there big enough turtles/terrapins will eat anything but they usually things like shrimps, prawns and krill.

  • dude that is badd ass!

  • those turtles will eat anything

  • No es muy habitual que coman esto pero ocasionalmente se les puede dar, aunque hay otras presas mejores para estas tortugas.

  • Is that what they eat???

because i have a turtle and it eats normal food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Normally I feed them pellets but they really enjoy the odd pinky mouse and rat pup. As you can see they go mad over a mouse too. These are treats for them though. Don't want them getting overweight.

  • neat vid mate, check my turtles feeding vid for some slow mos of a pinkie ripping open

  • hey dude how big are your turtles mine is 4 1/2 inches do you thing hes big enough to eat a mouse or something go and check him out its pretty awesome ive already fed him a mouse pup

  • The larger ones are between 7 and 9 inches. You could try them on a small mouse, if its too big they'll rip bits off but would prob be better on a rat pup. Just in case the head gets stuck in their throught. They should be OK but not worth the risk.

  • wtf

  • i didnt no you could feed them rats! lmao

  • Yeah, they'll eat anything. Pinkies mice or rat pups are easier because they're smaller but they like to rip larger things apart.

  • i got a small yellow bellied slider, his about 2inch's only - would i be able to feed anything live ( like prehaps a small tropical fish ) to him ? are your one yellow bellied sliders too or are they cooters?

  • wooo hoo new video, i rate 5/5
