Yea, pimpslap, you have to have a dual-action vibrato and most floyds are and I'm sure your JP 6 is. You simply push down the vibrato bar and release it. You have to do it kinda quick. I usually lock my bar down behind the bridge so it is facing opposite the strings and then flick it quick back to tighten the strings and let the springs of the vibro bring it back. I find it works better with the weight of the bar in that position too.

Regarding GawdMachine: It's easier to play with your guitar higher up. Origins from classic guitar.Petrucci doesn't focus on the looks, he's there for the music. Their stage show might be a bit dull, but the music they play is like nothing else in this world technically speaking. It takes a true musical genious to write it. There's a million people who can play that solo perfectly. But only a few can write such a masterpiece.
