I don't really care which gundam was better then what. All of the gundam shows where cool, THEY ALL GUNDAMS FOR GODS SAKES. May gundam keep going until the day I die :D.
@RNishida05 i dont know why the title says "special edition" because i remember this scene from when i watched the series. i watched as a rip from the original dvds but it didn't say anywhere that what i was watching was any kind of special edition.
if you adready got the dvds i dont think you should get the blu-ray unless you want to watch in hd.
but if you dont own the show already, i guess the blu-ray would be better than dvd since you get it in hd on the blu-ray.
After downloading the first one, I wish I hadn't. They've done such a horrible job at editing it almost looks like an amateur Youtube attempt to cut and past all the action scenes together. They've cut out every little bit of fat and destroyed any storyline or mood setting.
I think the first season of Gundam 00 has better choreography on fight scenes. the animation is just spot on fast paced. Not like other fight scenes (not just 00 Gundam Season 2 but the rest of the gundam series) that are just showing off who can fire most or who has the best looking weapons when engaging.
FInally, scenes that don't show mobile suits looking like their idle....Without these scenes, it makes it look like the Flags and stuff were just standing there and being shot at. With these scenes, it looks more like they are actually tryign to fight back.
@KaguyaRyuuji never i just like the storyline more im not saying 00 sucks or anything i like 00, just the storyline is more solid in wing then 00 i also enjoy gundam the very first series
I like 00 because it's good, not just because it's new. Although, yeah, being new means it has higher quality animation, which can sometimes make shows look more awesome than they really are.

@aleshamder As flashy and pretty as it all is, the actual combat leaves a lot to be desired. If you work out what's going on in three dimensional space, a lot of it doesn't make any sense at all. They'll enter a scene and the enemy won't be maneuvering or firing and there is almost absolutely no use of cover, terrain or evasion mechanics that make any real sense that correspond to what you see in the design.
That said, Gundam has become a platform for aweing 13 yearolds into buying well engineered model kits with over-powered asymmetric warfare. The moment they're supposed to "fight fair" against an opponent, all semblance of sense this series has tends to go out of the window.
If you want to see really great combat, take a look at 0080: War in the Pocket, 0083: Stardust Memory and 08th MS Team. 08th is especially awesome.

@nakobass28 Can't forget the epic battle between Epyon and Zero! But yes 00 had some seriously sweet battles. And another reason I like 00 and Wing is because they show even mass produced suits can defeat a Gundam if used properly.

Other than that,there's Trans-Am Dynames and a new epilogue.There are some others that I havent mentioned as well.

And,well the Blu-rays are really expensive
