It's neither of those. It's the Metroid Hatcher. And it's only easy if you have the Nova Beam, which goes straight through Phazite. The easiest is the Berserker Lord if you make it equal.

@spaminatorz You mean the Spire Pod? Just try to pay most of your attention to the pirate ships circling the pod, the quickest way to get rid of them is hypermode, otherwise it takes lots and lots of shots. If pirates get onto the pod take them out with a charged plasma shot and shoot missles at the ones with armour. After you destroy a few of the ships they will stop their raid. Good luck.

Tip of the day:

When you are corrupted, NEVER shoot madly. Use corruption to your advantage.

You will stay corrupted for 25 seconds, so that means 25 seconds of invincibilaty.

When you're done with all the enemies THEN you can shoot wildly.

Don't worry about the beeping, it just means you are about to auto-vent Phazon.(Exit Hypermode)

I'm amazed I actually beat this guy on my first try, took me all the way down to 30 energy, with 5 tanks total.

No boss other than Rundas came even close to that, and thats only because I didn't realize for a while you're supposed to yank off his armor.

True, I did waste a lot of energy with pointless hypermode attacks, but his missiles are also impossible to dodge, no matter how hard you try, and I got hit by every single one of those.

A nice tactic to stay in hypermode longer is exploiting the red bar. Stay long enough in hypermode so that the bar turns red, and then blast away unconstrained for about 10 seconds before draining the rest of the energy with hypermissles or something. The best thing is, the red bar does not take away from your energy, so the most you will lose is an energy tank when using hypermode this way.

when the bar is red and the game says you are corrupted, you take damage from enemy hits.. and if you dont know what helios is doing or how to evade his attacks, you can end up losing way more than just one energy tank.

It's the result of the unique strain of Phazon that Dark Samus used to corrupt the hunters. With each Leviathan guardian that Samus destroys, this corruption grows larger, and as a result, Samus becomes more and more alien in appearance. If you die in corrupted Hypermode, or on planet Phaaze, this Phazon "organ" can be seen to grow out of control and turns Samus into a new copy of Dark Samus.

The Plasma Beam in this game uses the "mode" that the Ice Beam used in Prime 1, and the Dark Beam used in Prime 2. The Nova Beam uses the mode that was used by the Wave Beam, and the Light Beam respectively. The extended form used by Plasma in the original, and by the Annihilator in 2, is not used in this game.

MP3's beam system is a throwback to Super Metroid's. Every beam upgrade you get replaces the previous beam, and they all stack. So every beam upgrade you get just makes your beam better. There's no reason to want to go back. :-P

Helios was a joke. Once you get through the whole stunning process, unloading a full hypermode tank into him takes out half his health.

Mogenar and Rundas were by far the two hardest bosses in the game, maybe the flying Aurora head as well.

Gandrada would've been hard, except for the fact that missiles did far too much damage on her, and if you shot the projectiles she threw at you they would burst and drop health or missiles.

Gandraydas kinda easy to hit if you keep the Reticule centered on the screen and locked on and keep dashing with her pace and you can land alot of hits. The Screw Attack is kinda useful since it drains 2/10 her health depending on how long you Screw into her.

That's only because they made him the first real boss (which I don't understand at all), and they expected you to be rather bad at the game still by the time you fought him. If he would've been like, the last one of the three you fought, which I think should've happened, then he would have been much harder.
