10 years ago when this aired here i also thought that because it had similarities with starcraft: 3 species human(terran) bugs(zerg) and humanoid blue aliens(protoss)

@RSObiWan yeah, they are fairly similar... Only issue is that Roughnecks is based on a book that was written by Robert Heinlein and published about the same time as the creators of Blizzard were born.

almost believable because when you think about it, starship troopers is completely based off starcraft just without any interference of the Protoss. they even call themselves Terrans in the third movie "Merauders"

It's not really fake, just totally mislabeled. It's the Starship Troopers animated TV series; which never made it far. Only like 8 episodes? (which is like, half a season) at least that's all I remember. I didn't like it, but also liked it. It was a kids series but they made it so... serious-like too, (attempted to be real about it, kinda?) So obviously, the script designed for 7 yr olds mashing with dumbed down gore about a serious War Story about politics and harsh military life? Not so good..

@PimpMunkeh Ya, the show would have been way better if it was designed for a little bit older audience, the book was awesome. I also only ever saw like 8 episodes aired on tv, but they actually made like 4 seasons, you can get it on DVD. It was cool when I was younger, but now the graphics are dated and it's just kinda cheesy.

Thats starship troopers, there used a to be a movie and than later on they made a 3d animation of it. The bug at 21 gives it away.
