Hi JarExtreme, what setup do you have? I.e. Sprockets/Brakes etc. I'm not that good on my F4i but was wondering if changing the tooth ratio would help with popping it up. You make it look stupidly simple!
I've got a 60T rear and a 14T front. My brakes just have SS braided lines. Gearing a bike down makes any throttle input much choppier, so it's best to learn to catch the balance point first. Keep practicing with the gearing you have until u can stop gaining speed during a slow wheelie. Practice makes perfect! ;)
sick vid ,,,6 months training !! u got skillz ..iv just started stuntin ,only been out 4 times and not realy got many places to ride but check out my vid and if u can give me any tips that would b cool ....
Does these metallic bars from sides really help from crash? I see a lot of videos where stunters ride without plastic and use these metallis bars. But how about using them together with plastic - isn't it possible to wreck plastic?
I learnt this stuff by trying over and over again with many failures along the way :P It can be nasty if you crash badly...and that's pretty easy to do!
@just1nwalter7 instead of trying it on a street bike i used a dirt bike first, because its better to crash into a pile of dirt rather then dropping a $13000 bike on road haha
To get the front wheel in the air quickly you need to hold the clutch in, rev to about 1/3 throttle and quickly slip the clutch out. Thanks for the comment!
nice video....i have a 02 f4i that i use as a stunt bike have a cage and 12 oclock bar.....i can wheelie pretty good but i am having a lot of trouble slowing it down....any advice>>???
Thanks! I learnt slow wheelies by dragging my rear brake while keeping the throttle slightly open. The hardest part is making your hand keep the throttle on when you get close to the balance point. If you keep your rear brake covered when you're bringing the front up then you can tap it lightly if need be and it will bring your front wheel down to earth. With the idle up at about 3000 rpm eventually you should be able to slow the wheelie down enough to use no throttle and just the rear brake.
finally got a nice day to go practice!!!! tried it..manage to slow it down a little bit actually more then i thought i was.....one more question what psi r u running????
I've been watching all ur vids, you've got alot of skill. I think you could do sit-down no hands, circle wheelies if your not already. anyway I got a completely stock 1990 Honda CBR 600, I wanna do some training and stuff like wht ur doing here. Do you suggest any parts besides a stunt cage, and a 12 'o clock bar? Possibly a bigger sprocket? and what does a bigger sprocket do?
Thanks! No-handed sitdown circles is one of my latest tricks!
The minimum for your stuntbike is a cage and 12 bar for starting out. When you get comfortable with wheelies and can slow them down using the rear brake then you're ready for a bigger rear sprocket. A bigger sprocket increases the engine revs in every gear so basically you can go slower and do circles without the engine stalling etc. Learning with stock sprockets is better though because once you upsize the throttle becomes touchier.
Thanks alot for explaining the upside of using the bigger sprocket, I will for sure be trying to be as cool as you on my bike. : ) when spring comes maybe I'll post a few vids of me. =]
As if I haven't bothered you enough, do you have any tips or tricks for me starting out? I am 14, and rode dirtbikes for years of age: 3-11, and got pretty good with wheelies and could hold 'em for a while on a 2stroke dirtbike, although I couldn't switch gears and hold my wheelie, I did feel near the end I could hold a certain speed for a little bit and balance my wheelie. I might be a little rusty, but that is bassicly my story, any pointers tho? =] haha that took alot to write.
The only advice I can give you is to setup your bike with a cage and 12 bar and start practicing. Keep in mind it feels quite a bit different doing a wheelie on a sportsbike rather than a dirtbike, but if you've got the basics you should do fine. All the best with it ;)
I'm running a 60T rear and a 14T front and it seems to be perfect for circles etc. Until you learn idle wheelies I'd keep the setup you've got and then go to a 60T when you start wanting to try circles etc. Thanks for the comment!
you really are that stupid I guess, well let me hold your hand .. watch the video again @ 0:14 there is an advertisement that played the first time you watched the video, like all videos newly uploaded to youtube , they do this for monkeys like you so that you don't get confused?? it clearly states the name of the song and the album so you can go fuck your self and sit in the corner and think about using your brain before just completely failing in something as simple as a song tittle =)
