I can see that Mr Gilbert has mastered his instrument and that just being able to play this is a technical achievement.

What I don't get is:

- Why play this piece on an electric guitar when strings on this particular piece are SO much better suited in musically bringing out what the piece has to offer? I really love when classical and rock are brought together in a creative & musical way (say Apocalyptica doing Grieg's "Peer Gynt" or Uli Roth on Mozart's "Queen") & I'm not hearing that here.

@kingv911 When Paul goes to a guitar store to do an appearance, he's there to sell Ibanez PG guitars (and probably get an appearance fee). The guitar has a price tag on it because he likes to pull one off the wall to show everyone he can rock out a stock ibanez.

PS. I thought I was kool playing Bizet's L'Arlesienne or the Bouree from Bach's Cello Suite # 3 BWV 1009, but Paul makes me realize I've got nuth'n. I would love to hear Paul have a go at the finale of Hadyn's Cello Concerto #1 in C Major - that would be something! It's too much for me to master.

You don't have to know how to read music OR transpose from violin lol there's a thing called learning by ear which is how I do it, however, I also do know how to read music for multiple instruments and clefs, not a bad skill to have

to learn how to play this look for the original piece by joseph haydn and get violin parts number 1. You must be able to read musical notes to know how to translate it's how i learned it.

@redrobinand3 a lot of people play guitar by ear, just like bloody49er said. some also have their own 'personalized' chords which they came up by themselves. through experience and practice, this is a very great skill to have. learning how to translate and read notes is not a bad idea, but i think that's just boring. it's what everybody does xD
