@casxadw how I handle the military: attack only with full power. Build as many fortresses and other military building near the border as possible and then fill them all with generals. Attack once they're all the most experienced soldiers. Since I attack only with generals, I usually take n+1 on every enemy military building, where n is the number of soldiers inside. This assures victory :)

@rockchalkbadalyan If you do a search for Dosbox you will find a MS DOS emulator - there are definately versions for Windows and Linux, and I believe Mac too. The Linux one should be able to work. Hope that helps!

hey,, when u want some faster building of attacking then type "winter" at playing game then hold alt and speeds are 1-6. It will play much faster!

Lag comes from the emulator. Sorry for it. As to the other things you pointed out, I believe they're disputable. I like Settlers 2 graphics, because I'm not fan of super-awesome 3D models. Music - well, yeah, it's midi. Sorry, there was such a technique back then. Gameplay - I absolutely love how the game was made. The economy is flawless in my opinion. People love old games because they remind them of the old times - but it doesn't mean they don't play new games at all.

it was very hard for me in last missions, the enemy was overwhelming, dont know how you managed to do so well here.

I abused a bug, when enemy doesn't attack you if you dont attack him with soldiers (but you can attack him with catapults) - then it's possible to win not losing a single soldier with just mass catapults

well, several guardhouses with gold soldiers + catapults will certainly do against them. The romans won't attack u unless u attack them in that mission, and it's possible to win just with cats, though too annoying ( and long)

My tactics has always been the same: build as many fortresses near the enemy (or biggest buildings possible) and then tell helpers bring all the gold into them. That's how you get loads of generals and the enemy usually stands no chance. You win in a single, strong blow like show in the clip.
