@trainandhawksfan17 You're right, those "LAMEside" (ha ha) horns use a VERY BAD recording of an RS3L. I suppose they wouldn't be quite as lame had they at least started with a decent recording of one. However, better yet, they SHOULD have used a recording of an RS5T or an M5! Still not as nice (or as safe, IMO) as a real horn on a locomotive, but at least it would sound good.
I hear that very night when leaving and he lives right down the street and we live in Prospect KY in Oldham county are you close to there because I would like to see that.
I remember hearing these horns here in my hometown after the UP merger brought them down here I was so excited seeing UP at first as a kid UP was a western railroad foreign to me so it was cool seeing fast 40s SD40-2 on trains but that excitement wore off when I heard there would be no more MKT or MoPac only UP than it got interesting not knowing what would come through town on a train and I had Santa Fe on the other side of town too they used horns like this I heard once in a while now KCS
I had a locomotive this morning in kansas City pulling our private railcars out or the Union station lead that had this very same horn on it but unfortunatlly there horn wasnt working right so all you heard was what sounded like a single chime since only one trumpet blew it sounded like a single chime switcher horn what a tragety this is a great sounding horn

It probably came off a SD90 series locomotive, they were notorious for smoking.
