I have RLS feel free to PM me if you have questions or want more info. I was diagnosed when I was 17 at the Sleep Clinic it sucks bigtime but there are ways to deal with it. Congrats on the loss that is great, it sounds like you found your groove!
Well basically it was my own fault. I have a form of anemia already which I did not know (hereditary) and even though I was taking iron supplements etc it made my anemia worse for some godawful reason. I also was prediabetic and just overall I got super sick and the doctor told me he can't tell me how to eat but he believed I would get better if I ate some form of meat. I do now not as much as used to like max 3 times a week and I am 100% healthier. I'm lactose intolerant so my diet was more on
the vegan side and I was vegan for six months before I had to start eating normally(I can and did eat yogurt when I was a veggie but not when I was vegan). I still wish sometimes I could do it so I try to consume as LITTLE meat as I have too and make sure the animals are free range etc but some people just can't do a vegetarian or vegan diet. I should have been smart and had a blood test done etc before going on it
I will say this pork and beef will always taste nasty because after going off the diet just YUCK. Chicken is OK but Quorn chicken is way tastier lol. The only meat that doesn't taste funny is SOME types of fish
just started jumpin on the bandwagon with ya'll walked today with my dad gona be doing its mon, wed, and friday and then my work outs after that :D keep up the good work :)
I am sorry to hear that your legs have been giving you trouble. You should ask your doctor, although they would probably want a sleep study done, and nobody would want to do one of those. Congrats on the 2 lbs!
My Hubby takes Magnesium and Potassium for his restless leg syndrome and it seems to help reduce it alot, maybe you could try it? Though don't take mega doses of it cause too much isn't good for you either.
Dude, go swimming! It's hot the hell! Swimming is great exercise if you have joint pain when you walk or run or have trouble with balance (like me). All the old farts are doing it! Lol. Not saying I'm old by the way.
Flexing your abs is a great exercize for sitting down. You can try to sit up straight with your stomach muscles instead of your back muscles.
I used to get kind of restless legs if I was on my feet all day. I don't know if your reason is the same as mine, but soaking my feet in super hot water and then massaging them with peppermint foot lotion always calmed mine down so I could sleep. :)
Hey girl - congrats on another good week. I have RSL and I can tell you that walking helps. It's when you sit still that they begin to hurt. Yoga has also been my savior, in fact, my legs haven't had a RSL episode since I started yoga.
So happy to hear you're doing good! If you want some help or anything check out the weightloss program from Glamour magazine, it's actually really helpful....its called Body By Glamour and everything is catered to your body you just have to answer questions and such. :-)
OMG - RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME has been a pain in my poor husbands ass (and legs!) for a couple of weeks now. I've just been out and bought him some tight bandages for his legs as they are the only things that stop the pain and will allow him to sleep. Apparently, soaking your feet in cold water helps too, or spraying them with a cold spray.
It's a horrid thing, but go check it out because it can be because of other issues that the pain is there. PLEASE check it out! :o)
omg i get that restless leg thing (usually when i walk too much or overwork my legs). i used to use A535 but my skin reacted badly to the formula so lately I've been using wiccy massage bar from lush (its a minty bar with beans in it) and so far so good!
justine used to be so nice...what happened?!?!
