I don't think so - the accordion music is typically French - I think it's just that that is familiar to you. All the music in this is original.

I liked it but it's too cute. He's too pretty. And he tries to be. Dont get me wrong, I like it a lot, but since this seems to be where everyone critiques I have that to say. He's not ripping anyone off... Seriously you all need to chill out! He's using a traditional chord progression, which has absolutely nothing to do with him ripping off a completely different song

maybe this is inspired by complainte de la butte, or other such french tunes... but the only thing that mirrors it the least bit is the rhythem in the verses. Lay off, the song is simple and fantastic - not to mention the video was entertaining and had a lot of work go into it.
