what an asshole....both of them....I would never send a student up by himself with no prior two seat training....this tv guy is lucky he didn't get off the ground....somebody shoot the asshole with the radio please !!!!! He's giving a great sport a really bad name...what a douch bag !!!!!
These things are very easy to fly but make no mistake, you can easily kill yourself or someone else without proper training. I'm sorry but a 60 minute lesson wouldn't get you a drivers license. This is how people get killed doing stupid things!
Yahhh , I've never flown one, and could hardly think that 60 mins of quickie and hopelessly inadequate instruction would get me betting MY life on it. He was lucky that is all that happened!!! That idiot telling him to do it, should be arrested.
What a fool, this guys a typical loser who lacks confidence and intellect.... He pointed the thing and knew he was giving up when he cut the throttle.. Loser...
its because he was looking at the camera. focus on where you want to go. not where you dont. this is true with any vehicle. PPGs dont have brakes because you would run over the parachute i assume
@KvornanTheLafesta The "spikes" are called flares. They are meant to spread the load across more area. The original ram air parachute (the Jalbet Parafoil) was made this way and, as you can see, some still are.
You really only need about 30 min of instuction. But most instructors now have CFI certifications and do an hour or more. This reporter can't fly. He should have started over too. lol
Wow unreal that the "instructor " told him it took such little instruction. So glad the reporter wasnt hurt.

He was at full throttle and then went to something like half throttle... not sure why. Definitely should have had some dual instruction/flight first.

Just out of curiosity, how come that parachute has spikes underneath it. The ones I see don't.

@ardvarkkkkk You can get a Powered Parachute without them right? They're kinda freaky...

@KvornanTheLafesta Most powered parachutes come with smooth bottom chutes.

YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO GO SLOW SO LONG... damn hit the throttle if you're on the runway... if i ever have a chance i am still going to do it
guitarhero3rox97 1 year ago
@guitarhero3rox97 - I thought the same thing and it seemed like that was the reason the chute drifted to the right.
