Cavaliers...... Are Bad Ass! alot of people say they suck, slow, and arent good, but if you do things to it their awesome, i have a normal 2002 chevy cavalier automatic, and i got a new muffler with a performance chip along with a shift kit, for every thing together cost 600, the performance chip was only 120 and it got me from 115 hp to 140 and the shift was around 425 and of course it makes the car shift faster as it was a manual... Love cavaliers ah

@mrkittycat110 Are you refering to them being bad? Do you know what year? 03-05 is the way to go. They aren't bad cars though. Your usual run of the mill econo car....that has lots of potential. Weakest part in the engine is the rods and those are rated up to (if not more than) 250hp.

@MTBLTZ A lot of people dont realize that with a few bolt on mods, its cheap to upgrade the 140- 150 hp in a 2.4 to over 200. The stock six cyllinder mustangs only have around 210 hp and weigh around five hundred more pounds. They still get the cavalier in torque, but when all is said and done I can sacrifice a few foot lbs for the savings in initial cost and insurance.

I'm looking to add a dual tip (specifically a 2 1/2" Single-Wall Angle-Cut Rolled) but the site I'm on has like an $80 increase from single to dual. do duals sound that much better? or is the price change just cosmetic?
@SML693 Are you talking about dual tip or duel wall? Dual tip is just cosmetic where as dual wall can change the tone of the exhaust. Not a whole lot though because it's only at the tip.
@senorguitar16 im talking about dual tip. here's an example of what I mean. for a 4" double-wall straight-cut single tip, the price is $108.36. For a 2 1/2" Oval single-wall angle-cut rolled dual tip exhaust, the price is $189.90.
I need a new muffler on my car anyways and I figure I should make it as stylish as possible. The dual tip looks much nicer IMO, but if the sound isnt much better I'm not sure why exactly I should shell out an extra $80. Recommendations? Thanks
Gotta remember, this was with my old crappy camera and me being stupid did it on a cold start. It does sound pretty bad when it's cold...so does nearly every other exhaust in the world. Im not too worried about brands though...all the Greddy is is a glass pack, same as this magnaflow. Except, they probbly charge a couple hundredfor their muffler for the name.

It really isnt too bad. Sounds almost stock at idle unless your ear is right by the tip. At WOT it is loud, but not deafening due to the 24" resonator after the cat. I've never had any noise complaints for police pullovers for it tho.
For a N/A cavy i'd recommend a Dynomax or magnaflow muffler.
Not too bad...The exhaust in the vid came to a total of about $250 plus $90 for labor and pipe. I didnt include the price of the pacesetter header tho. That is $230 for the armor coated one.

Dynomax or magnaflow for the muffler. Thrush for a resonator, and a magnaflow hi-flow cat. make sure to get a resonator that's at least 20 inches long

um the 99-04 Mustangs run 14 flat quarters, so does the Cobalt SS Supercharged. Same with the ITR so am I missing something? I think not. Unlike the Integras and Civics, the Cobalt SS doesnt have to be revved to 8000rpm to make power. My Civic was slow until 5000+.No matter what you say Hondas are just plain BORING. Atleast driving a fast Cavalier is fairly original. And Honda copied Suzuki with the whole import tuning fad back in the early 90s. GSRs are nice and all but they all sound like crap

Cavaliers...... Are Bad Ass! alot of people say they suck, slow, and arent good, but if you do things to it their awesome, i have a normal 2002 chevy cavalier automatic, and i got a new muffler with a performance chip along with a shift kit, for every thing together cost 600, the performance chip was only 120 and it got me from 115 hp to 140 and the shift was around 425 and of course it makes the car shift faster as it was a manual... Love cavaliers ah

@MTBLTZ A lot of people dont realize that with a few bolt on mods, its cheap to upgrade the 140- 150 hp in a 2.4 to over 200. The stock six cyllinder mustangs only have around 210 hp and weigh around five hundred more pounds. They still get the cavalier in torque, but when all is said and done I can sacrifice a few foot lbs for the savings in initial cost and insurance.

@KPY33 You're kidding, right? LS Sport and Z24 are the same thing. That muffler is not a canister muffler, it's the usual oval muffler. I'm not a teen, so stop assuming. Also, it's turbocharged so yes, I think it's badass. Learn your shit before you talk shit.

How do you like the magnaflow? I'm looking to add an exhaust to my car, and from what I've listened to here on youtube the magnas sound pretty nice.
also, after reading your responses to some comments on here, you seem pretty knowledgeable, where as I'm pretty inexperienced. I'm looking to add a dual tip (specifically a 2 1/2" Single-Wall Angle-Cut Rolled) but the site I'm on has like an $80 increase from single to dual. do duals sound that much better? or is the price change just cosmetic?

@SML693 Are you talking about dual tip or duel wall? Dual tip is just cosmetic where as dual wall can change the tone of the exhaust. Not a whole lot though because it's only at the tip.

@senorguitar16 im talking about dual tip. here's an example of what I mean. for a 4" double-wall straight-cut single tip, the price is $108.36. For a 2 1/2" Oval single-wall angle-cut rolled dual tip exhaust, the price is $189.90.
I need a new muffler on my car anyways and I figure I should make it as stylish as possible. The dual tip looks much nicer IMO, but if the sound isnt much better I'm not sure why exactly I should shell out an extra $80. Recommendations? Thanks

@SML693 My guess is that it's just cosmetic... A good new tip costs anywhere from $30-50 so ur basically paying for another tip and extra materials..

Gotta remember, this was with my old crappy camera and me being stupid did it on a cold start. It does sound pretty bad when it's cold...so does nearly every other exhaust in the world. Im not too worried about brands though...all the Greddy is is a glass pack, same as this magnaflow. Except, they probbly charge a couple hundredfor their muffler for the name.

It really isnt too bad. Sounds almost stock at idle unless your ear is right by the tip. At WOT it is loud, but not deafening due to the 24" resonator after the cat. I've never had any noise complaints for police pullovers for it tho.
For a N/A cavy i'd recommend a Dynomax or magnaflow muffler.

Not too bad...The exhaust in the vid came to a total of about $250 plus $90 for labor and pipe. I didnt include the price of the pacesetter header tho. That is $230 for the armor coated one.
My current setup cost about $130 plus $80 of labor and pipe

oh ok, my best friend has a 2001ls with a 2.4l twin cam, the thing has a built motor with over size racing cams and a strong programed shift kit, quick lil cavy, but dont sound as good as yours, its got the factory exhaust, do you have any sugestions on a exhaust brand

Dynomax or magnaflow for the muffler. Thrush for a resonator, and a magnaflow hi-flow cat. make sure to get a resonator that's at least 20 inches long

um the 99-04 Mustangs run 14 flat quarters, so does the Cobalt SS Supercharged. Same with the ITR so am I missing something? I think not. Unlike the Integras and Civics, the Cobalt SS doesnt have to be revved to 8000rpm to make power. My Civic was slow until 5000+.No matter what you say Hondas are just plain BORING. Atleast driving a fast Cavalier is fairly original. And Honda copied Suzuki with the whole import tuning fad back in the early 90s. GSRs are nice and all but they all sound like crap
