I trained as a nurse at this hospital in the 1980's I remember it as vibrant community with some of the most endearing characters there who were on both sides of the uniform. I loved working there. I do not remember this cold, paint peeling place that there is now. I actually find this really sad but I did think it had been pulled down and developed already. I must take a look before it goes for good, sod the security. I have so many happy memories of that place I must say good bye..

Got in no probs 26 11 09. No security at all. Look for the hardboard panels on the sides of the covered walkways - they lever off very easily and the layer on the inside is easily pushed in - most of it's going rotten anyway. The best thing about this is that you can pull it shut behind you and it's totally undetectable! (not that I would condone such a thing) Top video and was very handy in researching the site prior to visit. Top Banana! :o)
It looks as scarry as hell to me. If any place is going to be haunted it would be this place.
You took very artistic pics but it's a shame you didn't get the cell pic. But I'm NOT going to egg you on to go back. (Reverse phycology! LOL) Personally I would go back and take that pic!! hehe
The padded cell is overated now . The original door for it has been ripped off and people have graffitied inside it . Weird how big the place is and yet there was only one padded cell lol .
but if all those people were in there... i wonder how they got rid of them... well. they COULD have transfered them all... but That doesn't sound spine chilling at all
