@shaider1982 Because muskets were cumbersome and unreliable. They often exploded in the users face in the early days, and even the best musketeers would only be able to get off a couple shots before the enemy closed the distance and then it was time to whip out the swords.
@shaider1982 the musket was (not like the handcanon) a very expensive weapon, reserved for the upper class, hence the french royal musketeers. as it became mass produced (and used by commoners), the nobility grabbed back to the only noble weapon, the sword to distinguish themselves from the regular army
8:37 to 8:43 was just the line I was expecting after I accidentally saw a bit of part 3 of 3 first, where they were practicing more authentic elements of a musketeer's fighting style, such as using sword-and-dagger combinations.
I have to say this is very entertaining. Thank you for uploading these videos. It is sort of videos I've been looking for in a long time.

musketeers do use muskets bu not the candy bard kind
MrStarwarsboy11 1 month ago
If they were called musketeers, why would they use swords instead of muskets?

@mrgimp420 Yup, it was. But I just found it weird. Sort of like calling your unit the pistoleros when you actually use M-16's.

Wtf...Instead of using rapiers (A truely beautiful weapon) They make hollywood swords? Wtf.
SpadaccinoLuciano 4 months ago
@SpadaccinoLuciano Simple-rapiers are one-dimensional and deal very quick deaths. That's not cinematic at all.
Tareltonlives 3 months ago
@Tareltonlives I know, which is why Im stating my disapointment in thier choice for this episode.
