  • "You are such a manipulative asshole Cartman" -South Park

Ginger Kids (Season 9, Episode 11)

Must have been inspired by this scene

  • @duinnerfs 10%

  • What is he doing at 2:02?

  • That because the miracle is not in the preacher it is in the people and the faith they have they make there miracles with there own faith. So you be your own miracle and believe.

  • Esse filme é legal, mostra até um poquinho de leitura fria... "cold reading"

  • for fuck sake enjoy the fucking film its just a bloody funny film.

  • @RAITH321 Got the whole movie uploaded onto my channel if you care to watch it. Spread the word trying to get views.

  • @cwood4ever I TOTALLY have the DVD. Steve Martin WORKED THIS CHARACTER. Unfortunately EVEN WHEN PRESENTED WITH THE TRUTH, MANY ARE IS DENIAL. I KNOW, WE EACH KNOW, MORE THAN WE REALIZE. Care to discuss? philipjmartin@yahoo.com . or contact me thru my Youtube page. Happy Memorial Day........

  • @RAITH321 It is HILARIOUS and sends out a SIGNIFICANT MESSAGE AS WELL........

  • omg i remember this being a huge ordeal when i was 7 this movie was filmed in the town i grew up in groom texas and in a part of the movie they used my cousins basketball court that was one of the biggest things to happen in that town of 500(i think it's less lol)

  • this is one of the reason i hate christian(or muslim in a sense). i don't hate faith, or god though i don't believe in a personal god or god of any religion. i hate the flock mindset and the blind faith which come with madness and violence toward other people.

  • @jojoinhere "Or Muslim in a sense"?? Why hate at all? You can disagree or have a different point of view, but why hate? Strong words. Just because one is Christian or Muslim, or whatever does not preclude them to violence towards other people. You hate the "Flock mindset". Does that mean you hate Democrats or Republicans? Or any others that share a common belief? You should not hate at all but reach out and try to understand beliefs that are different than your own.

  • @jojoinhere A few simple questions. 1. Do you (personally) believe in anything? The good in man, anything? Do you believe in God personally? Anything? If not, we have no common ground to relate. I am reaching out to you. I believe that you are a voice crying out in the wilderness. I would be remiss to not harken to the call of someone in need, even you, especially you. Why? Why not!

  • @jojoinhere TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOUR PERSPECTIVE. I BELIEVE IN JESUS. His LIFE IS FACTUAL. I am NOT A BLIND FOLLOWER. EVERYBODY IF FIGHTING FOR "THEIR" GOD. WTF??? DOESN'T MATTER WHAT ANYONE "BELIEVES", there is ONLY ONE TRUTH, WHATEVER THAT TRUTH IS BUT, about a split second's glimpse at our history, nature, geology, and INSIDE OURSELVES REVEALS WE WERE PUT HERE, which raises OTHER QUESTIONS, OF COURSE. But, WE'RE ALSO BLINDED TO SO MUCH AND MANY OF US ARE NOT. THE VIOLENCE is FOOLISH.

  • @jojoinhere so EVERY christian is this way? do All blacks steal...do all whites linch...do all asians know martial arts? are all single dads dead beats? u sure know alot about nothin. ur pretty good at hate though...i'll give u that much. hate aaaall u want....it''ll continue to get u nowhere...and u'll continue to achieve NOTHIN.

  • @bigblueowx yes

  • give as the Lord sez...whether it goes for his work or not, you've done your part....

  • This movie was pretty good, not sure to make of the ending though.

  • @kaifroland

I agree. I always wished that ending was different. It just doesn't fit.

  • This movie is an aim at benny hinn people.

  • shows the true fakeness of religious stuff

  • Can somebody please do this to Benny Hinn already?

  • 1. i love steve martin. genius.

    2. i can't wait for the musical next year on broadway! omg. it'll be epic

  • meatloaf as the band leader

  • @duinnerfs 10%

  • This scene is absolutely brilliant. Loved this movie. Wish he did dramatic roles!

  • The percent is 10 percent!!!!!!!!!!

  • Church is Free! You have a choice to give or not to. Your right, learning about God should be free so why don't you learn about God and teach for FREE! Set the example. What is free in this world? The only thing that is free is the love of GOD!

  • @pepsi18941 : I don't consider giving your self-respect and your grasp on reality away to be "FREE!", but even at free it would be overpriced.

  • @pepsi18941 amen to that so true

  • Say hallelujah and pass the bucket. That may be all it's about - I doubt it. However, brings up the point - how far will people go to cope with life? There will always a savior of sorts. Though, my question is - saved from what to what? From one hell to another?

  • one of the best movies ever

  • did anyone notice that this choir is ricky dillards choir

  • Guys does anyone know a website where i can download the movie without signing up or watch it in streaming? I cannot find it anywhere

  • I gotta see this movie.

  • This movie cracked me up. Steve Martin is so funny. The rest of you hoot-nannies can keep arguing about religion. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the movie for what it is. A comedy.

  • This movie wasn't about Faith & Belief. This movie was made to show how people are ripped off at Churches world wide paying to learn about God when that should be FREE. This was a movie to make the Preists & people who charge at churches feel bad for robbing people & making their pockets deeper with their hard earned money. It's sad & a disgrace to see Preists & Pastors do that to people...

  • Umm yea did you actually watch the whole movie? It is about faith and belief

  • Es la vida echa pelicula de CASH LUNA?

  • me encanta esta peli yo subi un video en castellano besosssss

  • awesome scene and movie....I would have given money.......

  • Everytime I see this movie, I swear I'm watching Binny Hinn

  • yeah so true so tru, amen..

  • apparently Jonas was based on Binny Hinn

  • I'm not saying the writers specifically based the character on Binny Hinn, just pointing out the similarities

  • this movie is undoubtedly a great movie, but it hacked me greatly. as an atheist, it just annoyed me that jonas is exploiting people who (IMO) have already been conned, when he could be using his obvious talents of persuasion to make them realise the truth - that shit happens and we have to deal with it ourselves, not wait for some man in the sky to sort it out for us. i reckon i'm outnumbered on this, as i was when we studied this film in R.E. class, but that's my honest opinion.

  • He is the finest actor of our times.

  • Truly the best movie by Steve Martin IMHO... When you watch it and realise the subtext, it is very inspiring.

You have a "Jake leg preacher" and con artist, who gets his "miricle" by a lame kid in the "wilderness of the Midwest"

At the end when the guys in the bus are talking on how to "exploit the kid" that IS when you see Martin "get it" and see how low he has sunk as a man, and a man of God. He runs out of town, leaving the "roadshow" and a liar he had become to be a real man of GOD.

  • one thing most people don't realize about this movie is that Steve Martin is a fine actor. Good movie.

  • @wafbootq He IS EXCEPTIONAL. This film SHOWS HIS VERSATILITY, and JUST HOW SERIOUS HE CAN BE. AND, INSPIRATIONAL.......

  • The good part about this movie, is at the end He realizes his mistake, and sees the true glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. One day every knee shall bow and every tongue Confess that Jesus is Lord

  • I agree 100%

  • Strange that some Jesus people think this movie was somehow made to represent a good thing. It's a movie made to expose the rip-off traveling preachers(and the worst ones that are on TV). Steve Martin's response to the sheriff's accusations is just his remedy to save face and get the people back into the mind-set of giving their money tp him. Yes, this is a message movie, but the message is that you can't pay a church or preacher to get into Heaven, even if there was such a place. fish

  • Jonas had no intentions of helping thoes people. He just scamed them out of the little bit of money that they had. and i really belive he did claim to heal. though it wasn't real he claimed to have power..."i feel'a healing comin on... remember that. people actually thought he was really hearing from the holy ghost but is was just a transmiter.

  • Although you are still not looking at the whole picture. While he did not do this to help them, or even believe in his ability to do so, he had a positive effect on the communities. By restoring belief to them, he was able to help them.

  • results?... he was as flim-falm as they come. he knew how gullible pentacostals were back then (even today). all he had to do was hollar while quoating scritures and have a great choir to back him up. nothing about him was real. it was just entertainment. no one was changed until that night when the boy went up to the cross and not jonas nightengale. after he was healed everyone started running to the cross. then town got there rain that night

  • begining at 4:38 is one of the most touching moments i've ever seen in a movie. it gets me all choked up thinking about the redeeming power of God when he talks about being face down in the gutter and having to look up and see God...oh wow that stuff reaches me on a profoundly deep level, and i think we've all been there....incredible stuff

  • Really? I had a different take on it. I thought he was fake until he saw the boy healed. Remember he tried to hit on the boy's sister at one point & all the gimmics they used to make people donate?

But the boy's recovery started to mess with him & Christ saved his soul - which is why he had to abandon the whole dog & pony show.

Anyway, I'm grateful for your uploads. I love this movie.

  • This is was great movie, especially at the end when his co-heart finds his ring & remembers how he said, "You'll get it when I die."

...Those who love their life in this world will loose it. Those who care nothing for their lives in this world will keep it for eternity.

    -Jesus, John 12:24-26

So the fake preacher is redeemed at the end.
