What I'd like to know is this. Is a Choctaw Freedman, an "original enrollee" I'm doing research on the Choctaw side of my tree, and found out, a family member, was an "original enrollee" on the Choctaw website. Looking at this members history, sounds like he was a Choctaw Freedman. Can anyone relate to this?
Im quite familiar with the surnames you mention and I hope you consider publishing your research so others may find inspiration in researching their own family history.
My mother is choctaw and are part of the pitchlyn klan and we are grown up around the colberts and some of my moms relatives married into that family. My family is made up of slaves and indians that owned slaves. Being on the Fullblood dawes rolls and the freedman dawes rolls. Choctoaw, Chickasaw and Creek.
