I once lived in Pomona, not far from this tent city, fantastic people, but like the rest of LA, major social problems, during my two months there a policeman was shot dead as he left the court house by a 16 year old would be gang member, who I presume got life in prison without parole. I bust my ass 50-70 hrs a week, 51 weeks a year all so I can take 1 week off and go tent camping. These lucky bastards get to do it 52 weeks a year and never have to work. They get everything they need given to them. The one guy looked like he had a nice meal. I ate a PB&J for lunch. There tents are nicer then the one i use to go camping. Funny all the free time they have they that they cant clean up after themselfs. they throw there trash all over the ground, live like pigs basicly

I am gonna try to expand my garden and take veggies to the local foodbank. I shop at second hand stores that get there stuff at charities. Going to a second hand store is a treasure hunt.

These bills add up and will put a hardworking, upstanding American out on the street faster than you can watch paint dry. Some put themselves there, some are unable to find work due to a changing workplace structure (part time, college degree required, etc.) Homelessness is like cancer..many causes and spreading.

some people are so damn prejudice towards homeless, me and my wife both have jobs, I rent a cabin in Oregon, we left Friday from work to get my boy in Utah, 17 hrs. 1 way. I work on cars, so I was pretty greasy. when we got there it was to early to rent a motel for a full day, 1-2 hrs maybe. so we went to a Flying J truck stop to catch some zzzz's, lol they come out and told us no homeless people allowed . jerk's I gave them a piece of my mind, they let us sleep for a couple hour's. jeeze

I am unemployed with three University degrees (Spanish, Law Enforcement and licensed as an EMT). I can't find a job even at McDonalds. I was lucky and saved my money. I have no family in the US and I am a few steps away from living in a tent. Luckily I married a German girl and I can escape "Owe"bama land and will be moving to Europe soon with my work and language experience. America is headed towards economic disaster and civil unrest.

I use to live here I was one of the ones that was told that I could not stay there. If you watch the video i am the one you see coming out of the bathroom. This place was home when I had no other place to go. The people here were my family and when i had to leave it broke my heart. I still stayed when i was told to go and ended up in court cuz of it. I pray every night that those that became my family are doing good. Some see this and say we were lazy. 99% of us were on SSI .
It breaks my heart becasue I know this people at one time had a job and lost it just like thousands are. The economy is so bad, who knows, we or our loved ones could find themselves there. Illustrates what those paid to be guardians of the American Republic were up to. The financialisation of the Republic and deregulation of the finance/banking industry proved Jefferson's statement correct, that banks are indeed more dangerous than standing armies.

I once lived in Pomona, not far from this tent city, fantastic people, but like the rest of LA, major social problems, during my two months there a policeman was shot dead as he left the court house by a 16 year old would be gang member, who I presume got life in prison without parole. US politicians can recklessly run up 14 trillion dollars in debt and yet there is no money to treat people with humanely, the absence of humanity in the above story speaks volumes of the neoliberal system.

I bust my ass 50-70 hrs a week, 51 weeks a year all so I can take 1 week off and go tent camping. These lucky bastards get to do it 52 weeks a year and never have to work. They get everything they need given to them. The one guy looked like he had a nice meal. I ate a PB&J for lunch. There tents are nicer then the one i use to go camping. Funny all the free time they have they that they cant clean up after themselfs. they throw there trash all over the ground, live like pigs basicly

I can't believe anyone with a heart could call people "bums" these are you neighbors, friends, brothers, sisters, parent, and it could be you if you lose your job! I am gonna try to expand my garden and take veggies to the local foodbank. I shop at second hand stores that get there stuff at charities. Going to a second hand store is a treasure hunt.

@TheGreasepit although not featured in this vid, some people are becoming homeless due to an unforseen medical issue with themselves or someone in their family. These bills add up and will put a hardworking, upstanding American out on the street faster than you can watch paint dry. Some put themselves there, some are unable to find work due to a changing workplace structure (part time, college degree required, etc.) Homelessness is like cancer..many causes and spreading.

some people are so damn prejudice towards homeless, me and my wife both have jobs, I rent a cabin in Oregon, we left Friday from work to get my boy in Utah, 17 hrs. 1 way. I work on cars, so I was pretty greasy. when we got there it was to early to rent a motel for a full day, 1-2 hrs maybe. so we went to a Flying J truck stop to catch some zzzz's, lol they come out and told us no homeless people allowed . jerk's I gave them a piece of my mind, they let us sleep for a couple hour's. jeeze

I am unemployed with three University degrees (Spanish, Law Enforcement and licensed as an EMT). I can't find a job even at McDonalds. I was lucky and saved my money. I have no family in the US and I am a few steps away from living in a tent. Luckily I married a German girl and I can escape "Owe"bama land and will be moving to Europe soon with my work and language experience. America is headed towards economic disaster and civil unrest.

I use to live here I was one of the ones that was told that I could not stay there. If you watch the video i am the one you see coming out of the bathroom. This place was home when I had no other place to go. The people here were my family and when i had to leave it broke my heart. I still stayed when i was told to go and ended up in court cuz of it. I pray every night that those that became my family are doing good. Some see this and say we were lazy. 99% of us were on SSI .

It breaks my heart becasue I know this people at one time had a job and lost it just like thousands are. The economy is so bad, who knows, we or our loved ones could find themselves there. What I really don't get, is why do we have millions of money to send to other countries, and we have none for our own people> Can someone please school me on that?

We av just received an advert 4 visiting Calafornia. It show a lot of celebs saying how great it is includung David Beckham (that cunt will sell out 2 anyone). At the end it as Arnie saying how great it is, I guess he missed this bit of it. Now with more airport secruity alot of families in the UK are giving US a miss because of children. Europe will benefit more then the US in these secruity measures.

Its very easy to judge these people for most, and i do understand this topic becuse i work with these orginizations on a daily bases. Once you have used up all means of survivel, and have no job, this is it... it can happen to anyone. although most people ask "what about your family? cant they help? Mostly from what iv seen is the help comes to late as in goverment services. But alot of familys arent equipet to help each other. The american family unit isnt raised this way anymore.

@Cstrife234 Places like Detroit are doing just that they are tearing down houses and many of the folks are starting to farm on the land that is vacant. Not like anyone should complain? Beats having a crack house on the property. The USA will go to war with China it is a matter of time both sides want to thin out the population.
