Thanks for this video! I remember growing up and thinking that Nick (Peter Breck) was the living end. Now I watch and think that Richard Long was such a wonderful actor and was so handsome that he pretty much stole the show.
I have to say I love the way that all the boys related to their mother. Nick so hot headed, yet he listened to her every word. Jarrod called her "lovely lady" and even Heath (not hers) adored her. I love this show for the family relationships.
I loved this show too. One of the best on TV with one exception. I thought the characters were too overly physically effectionate with one another…just too touchy touchy for a family…kinda creepy to me…almost on the verge of looking incestuous.
@Dennyee had to laugh at that comment. I always thought they weren't that touchy feely. You wouldn't like to be in my family! You get hugged and kissed by by some relative several times a day, and i promise you it isn't incestuous. Just plane ole affection. :-)
At 3:32 and a few other clips you will see the episode "A Wagonload of Dreams" with guest star Tige Andrews, who would play Capt. Adam Greer in the TV series "The Mod Squad".

From what I've read, Fox won't release the rest of the episodes... How rude, eh? I hope they change their mind. You can find them online, but they're from non trustworthy sources, and usually not the best quality.

I currently own season 1 and the first of half of season two of Big Valley beause that is all that's out. Does anybody know where I can purchase the rest of the series?
