its a image file ( .png) there a folder on your compy that all your creature files get saved you just drop it into there and your good to go.

I have no idea. I don't have the full game myself, just the creature creator so I really don't know. I know that subscribing to sporecasts and buddying people increases the chances of seeing the creatures but beyond that I dunno. :-/
