Good for you for speaking up. People are always going to bi%ch & judge others for whatever they can find. To those who say "hold your child's hand or pick them up" tell them NO stfu & mind your own business. It has NOTHING to do with being a bad parent. It's about keeping them safe, while letting them explore. Yes let's just keep them locked up&hidden in thier strollers & to those who say its a leash like a dog leash, its a HARNESS it doesn't go around the neck goggle it & get over it!!
BRAVO..... Ignorance pure ignorance. I am with you. This world is dangerous. And you unfortunately cannot trust people. its a shame that our children wont even get to know what its like to like in a world like that. Remember my kids are not old enough yet but I am not sure I will be able to let them go out and play on our street by themselves like we did when we were kids.
You can call it what you want. It is still a leash. What difference does it mean where it it attached. It is stil a leash. I am glad it is working out for you. It may be cute but still it is a leash.
I really don't see the downside of a kiddie leash or harness. If anyone thinks they are cruel, then why don't you look up stories of children being kidnapped or lost? Look at the stories of children who were grabbed by pedophiles who wander off from their parents. Now THAT is cruel!
I agree, and many years ago, they did have harnesses. Leather belt buckle types that looked like lederhosen in the front, and horse halters from the back. I know. When I was 3, I travelled with my 62 year old Grandmother and got a kick out of taking off running untill I was harnessed, and then struggled like heck in it untill I learned not to take off on her anymore. Later in life, I had to put one of my own kids in one untill she learned to stay with me.
@Pippylockstocking You're welcome. I'm glad it's helped a few people at least. Toddlers LOVE to test limits. I know the only way I can get my daughter to use or wear anything is to let her pick it out herself. Otherwise, it's a huge fight and it's frustrating enough.
@Pippylockstocking It couldn't hurt to give it a try. I hope it helps. My daughter went through a phase like that too, except she wouldn't hold my hand because I'm tall and it was hard for her to reach my hand. She still likes to wear hers because she thinks it looks cool. She still on occasion does the bolt and run thing, but the back pack itself gives me something to grab.
i feel the same way i am a mother(useing my childs account) of 2 sets of twin and sixtuplets and with my first two i did not use them and thought it was mean but with my second two having 2 three year olds and 2 one year old i started using them then with the next 6 i would be walking to the park with them holding 10 "leaches" people would give me dirty looks so i know how u feel
People bitch about these all the time - look at the videos people have taken and the groups saying 'urghh bad parents cruel lack of freedom urghhh'. It's like stfu, you don't know how to parent, don't tell people how to be a parent.
Well said..!! Some people dont understand how fast they can actually run. Most people that say not to use them have no children of there own...Good points..
