  • "I remeber this stuff like it was yesterday, back when you had to have style and some class to be a Goth! These new kids have no idea what they missed!"

Tell us all about it, gramps!

  • Damn, I love the subtly of this song

  • Serpentine Gallery \m/

    I love this album!

  • pure gothic masterpiece!!an instant classic

  • This was def. their best album for my ears.

  • Somebody please polish the stars, for their skin is dull....AH I'd forgotten all about this song! <3

  • sorry, though this album was decent...worst album cover ever! a pixelated field of fail.

  • @kwr82

It's called low budget chic...it's goth, it's not gonna be all shiny.

  • @kwr82 maybe you should be a music critic for some faggot operated youtube comment feed magazine special??

  • Switchblade Symphony and Tura Satana are the awesomest chicks in rock, I like SS ten times more than TS though.

  • i was born a little too late to experience switchblade in their prime, but this song reminds of 2002-2003, going in freshman year of highschool. awesome!! i miss being 14

  • I don't think the band made a video for this song, but will somebody please put up a live performance of it.

  • This band remains original - roots in Classical, flowers everywhere. I'm so glad they're on You Tube! Thank you.

  • nice !! ty 4 posting

  • 'The wind shall blow bad trash away/When anguish is near...'

They have some of the best lyrics around.

  • I wish I was around when these guys came out I love them

  • i think its really neat that younger people are getting into the things i liked when i was a teenager!

  • man, this stuff really gets you in the mood!

  • @ShadowDwellerXXX ....LMFAO I found you Nomz. c:

  • One of you're first shows I went to see. LOVED IT !!!!! I HAD A SMILE ON MY FACE FOR ABOUT A WEEK!!!

  • still love this band, and this song, after all these years!

  • I'm 14 AGAIN

  • @alexandradeyl Exactly... me too :)

  • Unless you're raping a clown.

  • I remember switchblade from when i was like 8 years old.. but who cares.

    Remember:

    Rape is no laughing matter.

  • this song is amazing live, tina is so sexy <3

  • Why don't you just shut the hell up. You're being a complete asshole. People are just trying to enjoy SBS and we have to put up with you being a douchebag to a total stranger.

  • i fucking hate babybats that say shit like "i'm engulfed in darkness"

grow the fuck up dipshit go out into the real world and we'll see how fucking dark your life is

  • What in the name of God is your problem? You talked about what pisses you off. Fair enough. I will get into what pisses me off now. People who jump in like they KNOW someone's life. They KNOW what is going on. I have been in therapy for years. I have said much of what you said. OK 1,2,3 ALL IS BETTER! HAPPY!! POSITIVE!! WOOHOO! Each doctor I been to said, its not that easy recovering from post tramatic stress. In fact, many said that is living a lie.

  • What I meant by engulfed in darkness is like someone saying "I feel the blues." Some would say feeling the blues is feeling sadness. BLUE! I suffer from depression, anxiety attacks, and post tramatic stress. I feel like I am surrounded by a dark cloud of sorrow. I guess that is why I love gothic music. I dont feel "THE BLUES"... I feel depression. Its not being a monster, its being sad and feeling like nothing will ever get better.

  • ya i know what u mean, i got all that and afew other things, i fuckin hate it.

  • you're a douche bro

  • I am really happy for you. You must have the perfect life. Bob Dylan often talked about not judging unless you have walked in ones shoes. I suppose you are beyond that. I am surprised that someone would make an effort to approach people with depression, post tramatic stress, or other problems with WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! GROW UP!! GET BETTER NOW?!?!

I wonder if I am the only person who believes in not being prejudice. Yes, pre judging someone's life. Not knowing what went on.....

  • i think im alittle more educated on the subject but ok.

  • mtdewramen is correct! Darkness is not always evil. I believe darkness is often misunderstood. As I got older I began to see that what I was taught as "LIGHT" is deceptively evil. Many things I was told was "RIGHT", again deceptively evil.

Being an individual engulfed in darkness, I am often treated as evil, wrong, an outcast. Yet, these people who label and brand me never try to see where I am coming from or why I am the way I am. Good point mtdewramen!

  • yes that is a good point!!!

  • See, the way I view it is. Light is nothingness, and darkness is fullness and life.

  • its actually the other way around but ok i could see why you think like that. stupid fucking bible and organized religion, they fucked it allll up.they both kinda feed on each other.

  • its only the other way around if you believe it is. your perception of light and dark us the only thing that affects it.

  • You and i must be coming from the same place. I have been going to doctors for years about a rape that occured when I was 8 years old. I have told doctors I should just SNAP out of it. It was years ago. It should NOT affect me now. Dr Udall, Dr Brogan, Dr Fox have all told me that, in itself, is INSANITY. People ARE what happened to them in the past. For someone to come out of nowhere and attack me like that is sad.... No.... Pathetic. Evil. For people who say GROW UP.... go to hell

  • engulfed in darkness? are you some kind of shadow monster? wtf does that mean?!

  • GROW THE FUCK UP

  • Here we have forums of all types. I have talked to a number of people about their problems and I am really glad to see people willing to say I can relate to how a SONG touches you. I am glad this SONG brings out feeling and emotion. I suppose true monsters are those who say SHUT THE FUCK UP! GROW UP!

Here we have my writing about how SBS wrote a song that really touches me. Now I have people saying GROW UP? This is a post about a song, sorry you dont understand that.

  • Anybody know where I can find a live performance of this song in good quality?

  • :) :)

  • omfg ... this brings be back to antique clothes and cheap bus rides. SHOWCASE 95.

  • I knew about this band a week ago, and I love it.

  • Darkness isn't always evil, but light is often quite deceptively evil.

  • @mtdewramen Amen to that, brother (or sister? xD sorry)

  • @mtdewramen Amen to that

  • @mtdewramen That's because darkness is often deceptively light.

  • Breathtaking...just like all Switchblade Symphony's songs!

  • I listen to this one when I ever can

  • It's fantastic. :)

  • Such a classic record.

  • I know, Tell me about it. I love Switchblade Symphony. Bread and Jam for Frances was pretty good.

  • such a prety song! its always been my favorite of their songs and the lryics are enchanting i wish the wind would hury and blow all of the bad tash away....

  • i miss them...

  • i love this and if i remember correctly, it was the first song of theirs i ever heard. i've been slowly collecting ever since. (all this from a woman of the crone age:well, age 50 is fine!)

  • Its funny to hear all of these kids loving Switchblade, I remeber this stuff like it was yesterday, back when you had to have style and some class to be a Goth! These new kids have no idea what they missed! This was made back when ppl cared about the way things looked and sounded! Now you can throw just anything together and call it something and it will be accpeted. But then again even the 90s wasnt ready for what was going on in the Gothscene back then, screw em! I do whatever I want to do!

  • And you had to walk uphill both ways to school, right?

  • Oh, knock it off!

  • @Gloomshadow1 You're no different now, to how they were then. Look at you acting like you're better somehow. Just like the people wanted to be different from. Beating that old dead horse about tradition and class. I was listening to this music when it came out too, I had some mad sexy times, but I'm not about to act like I am better than the young people today who are trying to find themselves. Just enjoy the fucking tune I say.

  • @Christoffski boo hooo!

  • @Gloomshadow1 u quoted cartman at the end, RADTACULAR

  • @Gloomshadow1 i'd like to think that not everyone else involved in the goth scene "back then" was as conceited or self righteous as you.

  • @formaldehydekat OH FUCK OFF!

  • @Gloomshadow1 we do what we want and we do it well lol

  • @Gloomshadow1 Sooo, you were just interested in looking and sounding "Cool"? Fucking poser.

  • @Writersblock39 Gloomshadow1 is indeed a fucking poseur.

  • new favorite! (sorry wicked)

  • I first heard "Dissolve" on The Goth Box and was immediately hooked. Alas, it seems a lot of good goth bands always end up self-destructing for some reason.

  • Yeah, Dissolve has such a dark style and I love the vocals on that song as well.

  • My favorite Switchblade song!

  • This and Rampid have to be two of the most depressing songs of all time.

  • Switchblade was so good... why the one wanted to go so hip/hop sucks... They could've continued to be an icon. Blade's first was an epic...that alone should warrent all-time best albums. But, the difference between the gals screwed them.. the hip/hop crap that followed..... c'mon. Wake up Blade...you had something soooooo special!!!

  • Amazing song!

  • I love that others love this as well :) hugs! it flows well

  • What a song! What a song!
