And other people who are commenting on how "horrible" it is to cage your dog need to know that it's for the dog's safety. Dogs, especially beagles, love to get into things that can make them really sick. Most dogs love their cages. We keep ours penned up when we're not home and she just curls up and sleeps. :)

I cried buckets when i saw this, had 2 beagles in my life and this reminded me so much of them. Don't worry about the people saying the cage is cruel and nasty, beagles like routine and safety......they don't need acres to run around in. They are quite happy to sleep and let another dog do the running around

He's so cuuuuute! :-) I love mine, but we got him at 2 yrs old from a shelter 5 months ago, and he pees in the house. Does anybody here have advice about how to break him of it? We are running out of things to try, but I don't want to give him up. I'm afraid someone else will just put him down, and he's sweet!

awwww you make him sleep in a cage?? that is sooooo mean =( because i'm pretty sure that when you go to work, he goes right back in it.....that makes me sad. beagles are very hyper dogs that like to be around people, or else they get anxiety.  please consider letting your doggie sleep with you!

@caligirlvideos i think people should understand that dogs are dogs and you can't treat them like humans. A crate is not a cage. If you spoil your dog (such as sleeping with him/her) , you end up with a lot of problems. Also, when you have to go somewhere, you can't let your beagle roam around the house, or else your house gets ruined. I have a beagle, so I know. It's in their nature.

@QtY104 I grew up with Beagles and every one of them has slept in a bed with either me or my parents. My current Beagle sleeps with me and I have no issues with her at all. She has free roam of the house all day and doesn't bother a thing. It's all about training them what is theirs and what isn't. I'm not against crate training either. Some people use crate as punishment which I don't agree with. Beagles like small places to sleep. They're a den animal.

If dogs are trained in their crates- it's become their home! They want to be in there AND it's a safe place for him. Well trained has nothing to do with it!

I own the cousin to this dog and I was also motivated to get my beagle to roll over. Pretty much I waved food around in his face until he finally kind of followed it around and rolled over. At that point Ijust named the move, get him to do it again, fed him treats, and it stuck. Good luck.

No, human food will not kill your beagle, but dog food is better for him. A small amount of human food ("just a taste") is ok once in a while. My beagle is also named Sparky. He is 4 years old. how old is your beagle?

What a great dog! LoL beagles are very food motivated and can get quite fat if their owners aren't careful with their diet. But your dog is gorgeous, Healthy and shiny and really sweet you can tell. Where do you work that he's allowed to go too?
