  • Seriously, how can you say it's close to 50 inches? The Playbook will do it full 1080p out of the box, in stereo too, LoL. "Oh and it's in stereo" LoL this is 2011 dude, the iPad isn't stereo, your "50 inch" tv is, LoL

  • LCDs are shit.

  • @ChristianEvolution thats impossible. LCDs are the best in the market

  • Do modern combat 2 and nova 2

  • too small mirroring , not full screen , at the same image size i prefer to play on IPAD

  • @VicentiuB His hdmi cable isn't 1,4a otherwise he should get full screen

  • @LauEnVin

It not relationship between what connection you have to output in FULL SCREEN MODE , it just a software inside the product , here IPAD , who resize the picture from him to the external TV , but what i don't understant it why STEVE JOBS not make the choice for user to resize free over full screen external TV , like ATI ou NVIDIA does with him video card output for TV , the resize are free not limited like on IPAD not have choice to have small screen on external TV not resize posible

  • does the video mirroring work with the old tv out adapter(like dvi or vga)?

  • @tunctaylan No

  • Is it possible to make your tv to scale/stretch the image so it is in fullscreen? Kinda ugly when it is in a black box...

  • Can you tell me why is this video nice?

HDMI mirroring seems not to scale appropriately onto full screen TV. It seems just to mirror "1024x768" and not to FullHD! It's bad, imho

  • @CrAsHeRiT Probably because the iPad2 just came out and the content isn't updated yet.

  • @pomssi1 Content doesn't matter (You can't render infinity blade @ 1920x1080 even on a dual core, ATM).

And moreover, neither the dashboard is scaled to fullscreen.

I'm trying to understand if it's a limitation of the ipad2 itself, or just of TV used.

  • @CrAsHeRiT It's the type of tv used. And this is to spec. 1pixel = 1pixel. Some chinese knockoff tvs might scale up or there might be a menu setting to change the default, but typically the rule of thumb is to center the output at a 1x1 ratio.

  • @CrAsHeRiT The iPad doesn't display in full HD. If it did all the apps would have to be rewritten to be compatible with TV resolution.

In fact, this is done on the iPad 1. You can write an app to take advantage of the TV out and shoot out video in a specific resolution different than the iPad. All the iPad 2's 4.3 offers is the ability to display the non video out aware apps to display 1:1 on the TV.

  • Haha, great vid. I'm super tempted to buy one for my TV.

  • You are a lucky man. Nice video. Do you thing it will be able to send 16:9 to a tv?

  • Damn good vid!!

  • good

  • nice !
