  • I remember seeing this concert at the time blew me away does anybody know where it was and what they called it would love to locate and download

  • Someone once made the comment that Michael McDonald always dressed like an office worker forced to stay late and it struck a cord with me, I think that was always the appeal (besides the great music) that Mr. McDonald was an average person just making wonderful music for a living.

  • That is one hell of a way to harmonize...

  • good meat

  • Great song, great times, great musicians, great era, god bless that we were all bless with this type of music..Because now we have nothing

  • Michael Macdonals is the best!!!!

  • 3 sets o' drums.... oh my!

  • Dude on the guitar seems pretty happy.

  • what a voice!

  • I have a documentry about the Doobies with them all talking about the band and how they got such a good sound because they used 2 sets of drums. You can see both drummers at 3:00. The other band that used 2 drummers was The Funk Brothers, who were the Motown band, which added the great sound of Motown. Of course, the other musicians were exceptional, too.

  • @PietPassword Yes but now compare the rhythm with Steal away by robbie dupree, so much alike, I think Michael had part in that.

  • @1skunkus He had a part in a lot of tunes in that time. When you listen to that Robbie Dupree number what you're really hearing is Michael McDonald. That rhythmic chordal piano playing is McDonald all over. He plays piano like he's playing drums. And taking nothing away from Christopher Cross who is a fabulous songwriter and quite a good guitarist but it's the first thing that strikes you when you hear Ride Like The Wind, also.

  • once again SUPERB SINGING by Michael , he makes it look and SOUND sooo easy ....

RIGHT , with a voice like that yeah ....but how `bout us then huh ????

    FABULOUS track !!

  • I know I'm not the only blk man that like rock music and 80's music

  • That's one crazy high note he hits at 2:38

  • who is that playing synths? looks almost like Cornelius Bumpus

  • Yeah, He was a great player.....God bless him.

  • Does the volume lower at 0:45?

  • yeah it does get lower but not at 0:45 but at 0:42.

  • Best YT version so far - thx for posting. YT are so uptight about copyright these days..

  • Ok so I am havin a moment..I am almost 40 and I have had a closet crush on Michael McDonald since about 1978 LOL but why does he look like "Jesus" to me in this clip...gigglin to myself...

  • This sound is better than the studio I actually like the original (Kenny Loggins) too but live version is better by far

  • this is my favey song of all time! i heard it when i was about 16 and loved it since : ) and MM has still got it!

  • I challenge anyone, once they get that brilliantly infectious keyboard riff into their brain, to get it out in under a week...won't happen.

  • wow this is even better than the studio version

  • These are some of the greatest vocals ever!!!!!!!

  • The video and audio fade out because they segued into another song..."I Cheat The Hangman".

  • Buenísimos.
