The delay that you are talking about from the console controllers compared to the PC's mice are actually a problem within the game itself. It is like comparing Far Cry 2 on console with CoD on console. All of you FC2 console gamers know that there is a sort of "smoothing" while aiming, which doesn't exist in CoD. It is the same thing in that game where 360 gamers and PC gamers would play together. If the 360 version would have been without the smoothing, it would have worked a lot better.

God, everyone makes it seem like we are all aliens lol. We put them together to see how they "Interact". We aren't playing sims here people. I think certain games would be a great with multiplatform interaction. Minecraft for instance is a game that is first person, PVPs go on on certain servers, and would do great among the three platforms. The very usage of the idea is phenomenal. I am an avid EVE user, and I think that if the pc/console barrier is successfully crossed and utilized by ccp, all those console users who are looking for something a little bit different will find it in the actual "EVE universe. " I am second in command of a rather small corp in EVE, and I think this will be a boon to both sides of the gamer equation.
They have already said thats its going to be on Xbox 360 only becuase the Playstation network cant handle the networking its going to take to have the interaction between Dust 514 and Eve Online that they need, Im not saying that Xbox is better but, you do have to pay for the Xbox Live therefore more work goes into making the network better and more reliable.
@jkbedaw thats a load of bullshit, both networks are strong and reliable, and i think you will find that the EVE players subscription will cover it all. the xbox live membership goes to microsoft mainly. not the game developers. the developers get their money by how many copies of the game they sell. ps3 networks are more then able to handle a few simple instructions to be sent back and forth from EVE and DUst514. so get ur facts straight.
As a long time EVE player I do have my own opinion on this of course.
The alliance I'm part of is a member of the single largest coalition in EVE (NC whoo!). As you can imagine, keeping the coalition as stable as it is now is extremely difficult. After it's release, DUST players will be yet another variable to the whole naturally formed dependency mechanic.
Nonetheless, it's an interesting prospect which will undoubtedly shake up the galaxy a bit if all goes well.

Great idea however the PC players would completely destroy the console players in the FPS genre. It wouldn’t even be a fair fight. As a PC gamer, the mouse and keyboard combo just allows that much faster reaction times. Also, not to mention PC players will be running the game at highest quality and at the fastest rates compared to the console. That being said, there is no reason why they shouldn’t let everyone compete against each other and try to cross sell the platforms to new customers.
I know this has probably been said, but PC games would rape the shit out off console gamers. Im open to Console Gaming and all but PC players have much more skill and would just wreck any console gamer.

PEOPLE LISTEN!!
From this morning my friend and me (both ps3) coulndt go online on any game. My other friend ON XBOX couldnt go online at the exact same time. I got curious and i heard the same from my cousin which lives like 100 miles away.
Could this mean they ARE trying to make things work together??
(maybe ps3 plus is going to be more expensive and BOOM you can play together...Maybe??)

@TheNewbpowner123 No, PS3 has been down since Thursday thanks to The Hacking Group Anonymous. They hack PS Online and Sony is doing maintenance, the maintenance will most likely stop and Online will come back online tomorrow or Wednesday.

The very usage of the idea is phenomenal. I am an avid EVE user, and I think that if the pc/console barrier is successfully crossed and utilized by ccp, all those console users who are looking for something a little bit different will find it in the actual "EVE universe. " I am second in command of a rather small corp in EVE, and I think this will be a boon to both sides of the gamer equation.

They have already said thats its going to be on Xbox 360 only becuase the Playstation network cant handle the networking its going to take to have the interaction between Dust 514 and Eve Online that they need, Im not saying that Xbox is better but, you do have to pay for the Xbox Live therefore more work goes into making the network better and more reliable.

@jkbedaw thats a load of bullshit, both networks are strong and reliable, and i think you will find that the EVE players subscription will cover it all. the xbox live membership goes to microsoft mainly. not the game developers. the developers get their money by how many copies of the game they sell. ps3 networks are more then able to handle a few simple instructions to be sent back and forth from EVE and DUst514. so get ur facts straight.

As a long time EVE player I do have my own opinion on this of course.
The alliance I'm part of is a member of the single largest coalition in EVE (NC whoo!). As you can imagine, keeping the coalition as stable as it is now is extremely difficult. After it's release, DUST players will be yet another variable to the whole naturally formed dependency mechanic.
Nonetheless, it's an interesting prospect which will undoubtedly shake up the galaxy a bit if all goes well.

@Kronossan yea but the problem is that now all our planetary colonies are fair game to this guys, what I fear out of this is that us EVE players are dedicated players for the most part, Console players on the other hand are allways looking for the next quick fix.
the moment Dust 514 becomes old news to them they'll jump to that next game and for us EVE players, if you actually used Dust 514 players as your strategy, well you are in a deep trouble if not enough people play the game.

Great idea however the PC players would completely destroy the console players in the FPS genre. It wouldn’t even be a fair fight. As a PC gamer, the mouse and keyboard combo just allows that much faster reaction times. Also, not to mention PC players will be running the game at highest quality and at the fastest rates compared to the console. That being said, there is no reason why they shouldn’t let everyone compete against each other and try to cross sell the platforms to new customers.

@NWA90s Well for racing there are many different options for some serious racing wheels, however if you can only use mouse and keyboard then the controller would be better to use but it doesnt mean that the players are better. Also what do you mean by fighting, cause if your talking about FPS gaming then the PC would Dominate, and thats basically what i was talking about. If your talking about street fighter and games like that then ya, controller would win.

@NWA90s I am confused about what you mean by 3rd person though. You mean games like Gears of war or more like Dragon age. Also i was not comparing the controller vs mouse and keyboard. I was comparing console to PC, because also to be honest, you can use either PS3 or Xbox controllers on pc as well as many other joysticks for fighting games, or racing wheels for racing games. Anyways sorry for the two comments, i hate that youtube limits the character count in comments.

I don't understand how this would sit well with Microsoft.If this would happen for every game in general it would kinda threaten their pay-for-play operation and sales for XBox LIVE cards and such would go down because the necessity for them wouldn't be as big when you could connect with other players via any other console.Actually,if it wasn't for PS3's shitty quality,numerous updates and fail of a release XBox would be extinct.

@lildread1 Well if you knew your damn facts right would know that the Sony Playstaion 3 was released before the planned date and had several bugs because it was not tested properly.It faced many other problems that I will not go into detail but the point is that the release was a failure,even with its advanced hardware.And if your reading comprehension was better,you'd notice that I trashed on both the PS3 and the XBox 360.

Sounds intriguing. Well, being that PC gamers have superiority with variety of controls, maybe game developers for interactive cross-platform games could make the version for PC only playable with the xbox controller. PC'ers wouldn't like it, but if the game is worth getting, it would make it fair across the board.

multiplatform games would be cool, so long as PC is not included. if you added pc it would become difficult because like for instance call of duty, pc is much easier to aim and if you wernt on pc you would get wrecked. also PC players could easily download hacks that console players wouldnt be able to get... pc players could also probably figure out ways to boot people from games and change settings and bla bla bla.... BUT an RPG game would work perfectly
