It has helped me get several stolen horses back but if all ya have are a couple ball slappen nags they are a dime a dozen and easy to replace so you don't have to brand them. I raise, train and sell rope horses. I sold a tripping horse in Cheyenne Saturday morning for 75,000. Long live Frontier Days
@IsBreaLiomCapall micro chiping is a great use of technology. The problem with it is that you have to have the eqiptment with you to check the chip. I was at a roping 4 yrs ago. I had 4 horses tied to my trailer. When I loaded them to go home I only had 3. 2 1/2 years later I was at a roping 1,500 miles from where the horse was stolen. I was walking back from the mens room and a guy come riding by on a horse that looked like Willy. I followed him until I could see his left shoulder and ..
@IsBreaLiomCapall sure enough there was my brand. I went to my pickup grabbed his registration papers and confronted the owner. He claimed he bought the horse from someone else. To make a long story short I got my horse back and the guy was out his money.
It remembers me at Spirit. :D
