  • It's the Greek Rocky Horror! Brilliant! Alan Cummings, one of the best kept secrets in theatre!

  • Impressive!!!

  • good god, this is amazing.

  • To Xristos kai Apostolos Gkletsos, den to exete gnwsto, giati to 3eftulisate to luriko eixate den eixate.Balte kai Madonna...eleos!

  • My god he looks like Rumer Willis in this!!!

  • This production is probably the reason The Public decided to do The Bacchae this season.

  • Ahh. The beauty and the sorrow of live theatre. Once you miss it, it's gone forever . . . and it's just not the same on a telly.

And anyway, how would we singe people's eyebrows in the first few rows of the stalls from a DVD??

  • is there any possibility seeing this online or buy a DVD or something?

  • saw it twice, loved it, thank you for burning my face off. :D

  • @imborn2perform Glad to be of service :-) (I was one of the people involved with providing the flames)

  • taking influenc from Freddie M ther with the mic... did this piece not so long ago i played Penthius decent play

  • Everytime I watch something with alan Cumming in it I begin to drool. I wonder why...

  • Alan Cumming is gorgeous.

  • I would like to heartily second the idea of either a CD of the music or a DVD of the preformance. Both would be even better.

I would certainly buy both, and with Alan Cumming, I think there would be no problem making back the initial cost of production.

  • OMG, thank you so much for posting this!! I saw The Bacchae at the Lyric Hammersmith, and would have seen it more than once if it wasn't sold out. It was the best thing I've ever seen in the theatre, ever ever ever - and I see a lot of theatre! I only wish a recording had been released of the music, cos I would totally buy it *hint* Or even a DVD *double hint*

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I got to see this performance live in New York, but my memory fails me most of the time. It was nice to see certain little bits that I had forgotten. Alan was amazing in this. And more amazing afterwards. *_*
